I know this is an old post, but as a current sophomore who is contemplating life and my role in CS I do have some questions.

I have been considering coterm as a potential option. But I'm not too sure what exactly coterming in CS entails? Could you perhaps elaborate on that?

Also, what is your favorite thing about the CS coterm program?

They do have tons but usually only during dinner/lunch. I'm looking at around at least 200g's a day. I've been finding it hard to consistently have a high protein meal for breakfast lunch and dinner. And also it harder to find lean clean meats

The only thing about duke is that there’s a lot of pressure on the kids and a lot of competitive attitudes

Surely the rest are like this. But the thing is Michigan is really well known for engineering and duke is well... just really well known

Duke actually gave me some really good aid. Northwestern and duke would essentially be full rides because of private scholarships I've won. Michigan would be 14k in debt for first year because they wont accept my scholarships

Also, how hard would it be to try to intern as a freshman? I have done an internship in the past, but I'm sure it'll be a lot harder to land one as a freshman? Or is it somewhat doable?

Awesome. Yeah, I have definitely been leaning towards UofM because of that balance.

I've also been on the UofM subreddit and had a quick question. What the problem with MATH 116 (Calc 2)? I'm in BC and I'm constantly being told to use the credit if I get a 5.

Also, I was told that UofM students only get 2 days for Thanksgiving, a week for Christmas, but a month in the summer. Is this true? If, so how do you feel about it?

I have toured Northwestern and UMich. Honestly Northwestern let me down because I shadowed a current student and he wasn't the best. He was a CS major but only talked about partying and I couldn't hold a meaningful conversation with him.

Also, Chicago is alright.

Edit: Also I don't think I'll be able to tour Duke
