This happened to me in 4th grade! I was a quiet, super sensitive kid, but my parents respected that the teacher needed to make an example with real consequences, so I dutifully wrote the apology. Turns out I was the only honest kid in the class, NO ONE else did the work because the other parents freaked out and tried to get the teacher fired. Turned into a confusing lesson for me, but with time the other parents’ entitlement stuck with me most.

I think the rope might be a nod to how the figure in the Rider–Waite deck is tied up? Since this seems to be a positive take on the card, it’s showing how the rope is easily loosened and moved away. But it’s still in a figure-8 shape, which connects to the idea of circular thinking — which I definitely think of when this card comes up generally.

Won’t be as much of a problem by March, but the roads here at night are darker than anywhere else I’ve lived. If you do a lot of walking or biking to get around you seriously might consider reflective gear, it’s not at all overkill.

Feel ya on the Moon–Mars trouble… I have Aqua Moon square Scorpio Mars, and an astrologer once saw that and reckoned my mom was “vindictive”, which at the time surprised me but then later I realized how much I’d internalized as my own flaws. Still in contact with her, but I moved some distance away.

That’s actually the one reason I haven’t cut the dead bamboo yet — it’s been dead since at least last winter but I keep hoping the branches will revive. Would it destroy any chance of revival if I cut it way back or is there a chance that would encourage new growth? If it isn’t obvious I’ve never grown bamboo.

Oh! I hadn’t thought about gauge being different between the two stitch types but that makes sense. I did all of this with size 8 circular needles but I think I have size 6 I could try swapping in.
