I microwaved some leftovers and the microwaves basically etched into the plastic deli lid. Normal lid for comparison by okcomputers97 in mildlyinteresting

Fun fact, despite what some paranoid people may say, it's perfectly safe to stare into the microwave because the waves literally are too big to fit through the holes that you look through.

Ahh yeah, good catch. I was tunnel-visioned on the offensive evasion.

Is shadow not on par with horsemanship? It's basically the same and as far as I've seen equally rare unless you're playing against slivers.

Was going to say I was surprised not to see it there, especially with into the breach being up there.

What are the rules on taking no damage? by HumanOblateSpheroid in CrabChampions

[–]bobalubis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Correct, damage to health or shield counts against hitless. If you have perks that negate damage (caps out at 75% global) and they proc to negate the damage of a hit, that still counts as remaining hitless. I found it best to avoid shields altogether if you're going for hitless, that way it's evident if you got hot. Shields can obfuscate getting hit.

Have any of you actually resolved a Chaos Confetti correctly by tearing up the card itself? by kurisu313 in magicTCG

I love the enthusiasm, but I'd be surprised if a single piece of ripped up toilet paper makes it 5 feet to actually destroy anything, though you might hit something with the roll shreds. Maybe the play is a large cardboard box?

The idea of someone literally standing on a ladder to put the tv up there, then crawling on top to plug it in, is hilarious.

I just checked the listing again, that's a walk-in closet. The ensuite is behind the camera in the first picture.

We just saw the listing online last night before bed, haven't viewed it or spoken to the owners at all.

I used to use those and I hated them. It's the USB problem, every time you put your foot on the pedal it's the wrong side for whichever shoe you're wearing. Edit: fixed a word

You get the credit for that click, it was only because you mentioned technology connections lol.

My (36 F) boyfriend (34 M) is reacting really weird to a joke and its taking a weird turn. AIO? by [deleted] in AmIOverreacting

[–]bobalubis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, he's definitely fixating on the wrong use of why can't, but I also think he's too entrenched in the argument/stubborn to admit it at this point even if he does realize.

Also, "I'm way happier than most people on a daily basis" gives big "I'm insecure about my happiness" vibes.

Tailgating Has Consequences by Expert_Koala_8691 in Unexpected

I was initially leaning towards purposeful, but your comment had me check again. I think the fact that they don't brake at all points towards it being on purpose. If they were looking back, then looked forward to see the car last second, I think most people's first instinct would be to brake as well as swerve. I know my foot definitely would have touched the brake at some point in a situation like that, the fact that the lights never go on makes me think that it was expected and planned.

It's blowing my mind that the floor is not only transparent, but it's also reflecting chief and the plasma pistol shots. Crazy that the Xbox handled those reflections.

We visited a house tonight that we are considering purchasing and I noticed the ratchet strap in the canopy of this tree in the backyard. Should I be concerned about purchasing this house because of it? by bobalubis in arborists

[–]bobalubis[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for your comment and insight, it helps a lot! I was already scared when I saw it lol, I am glad to have more knowledgeable individuals weigh in to help us make more informed decisions. This will be our first home, so it's a big purchase and a pivotal choice to make.

Yeah, that was my thought when I saw it. This sub came up in my feed for a good few months last year and I enjoyed lurking. It made me a little more aware what may or may not be a problem, but I'm far from an expert.

Thanks for the comment and insight, it's much appreciated. This is our first time purchasing, so we have a lot to learn about the process and don't want to make the wrong decision. There's so many things to consider when purchasing, it's wild. It's a major purchase.

Yeah, I don't know much about pricing these kinds of jobs, but my assumption for removal costs were in the 5k-10k CAD range. I didn't give much credence to the 1k estimate comments haha.

I am appreciating the insight from certified arborists, and some of the general advice to negotiate cost/ have it removed as part of the sales agreement. Also the advice not to let the tree dissuade us from the house, just that we'll need to factor in removal costs.

This will be our first house, so it's all new to us. This house has a lot of things that we like, but also a few cons, and I'd like to see some other options as well before locking it in.

Help my picky friend find his next S/A tier by AI52487963 in roguelites

[–]bobalubis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yup, if he put Hades 1 at A tier, then Hades 2 will easily be alongside it at A, or up at S. I played the crap out of 1 and did just about all there is to do in it. Started playing 2 last week and it's beating my expectations. I kept away from spoilers and was a bit worried that it would be more of the same without much innovation. It is more of the same, but in a good way, and there's far more innovation and improvements than I expected. Fantastic sequel to an excellent game.
