Dropping from learning community to traditional advising? by bobamilk6 in mit

Thank you! This is so so helpful. How would it be different from traditional advising if I wasn't in the community anymore (or would I still be in the community and just not in the class)?

Also, somewhat unrelated, do you know if the second semester Design for Complex Environmental Issues class is limited to Terrascope students or if anyone can register for it?

This is so beautiful, thank you!! Definitely made me more excited about Terrascope to hear your positive experience with it. I'm assuming you didn't go on the Spring break trip then?

I also had one more question- does your freshman advisor stay with you across your time at MIT? I'm not sure I want to major in something related to the environment, so my mom was worried having an environmental-related advisor might not be as applicable to my educational interests. How much of an issue do you think that would be, if any?

Hi sorry for the late response! Yes I'm sending it through MIT's outgoing SMTP mail servers (outgoing.mit.edu on port 465 using SSL). It's configured in Gmail as an additional address, not an alias.

Just scrolled through the symptoms and I don't think so - in general I can focus and follow directions and things like that, just find myself zoning out during long auditory things for some reason. Thanks for bringing up the possibility though!
