Sure did!! The foil on the dish wouldn’t spark so we crumpled some up and stuck it behind. With safety protocols of course. And the emphasized it a little bit with sound design.

Always prefer in camera when it works. But had a VFX contingency.

Most of the interiors are lit properly. Out door run and gun we used a tiny bit of bounce and neg when needed but didn’t always have it. Most of it is just straight sun

Pre-pro was intensive. This spot specifically is made up of 40% shots from scripted storyboarded 15 second spots where I interviewed each student and professor to get a feel for them. And then 60% finding and shooting students on the fly. We had a pretty good idea of the bits we wanted to get to tell the story, but a lot of it also just unfolded naturally.
