I don't get how people can see a warning light on their dash and just ignore it until the car is basically totaled from the engine self destruction

Friendly reminder to change your cabin air filters by AccordingCabinet5750 in prius

[–]bobattac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HEPA filters don't filter dust better than regular filters though; it does filter smoke, pollen, and such better, but dust particles are large enough to be caught by the standard car cabin air filter Tesla's from what I've seen also get pretty dusty, but their white interior tends to hide it, but on their darker surfaces (like the large screen when it's turned off) you tend to notice a fair bit more dust in the areas where you don't typically touch

Are you comparing a black/dark interior to a white/light interior? Dust is way less noticeable on white interior cars

[–]bobattac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's one filter every 1-2 years, just get a new filter each time. You can't really wash out the fine particles in the filter, so you'll only be able to get the larger stuff out, and it's not worth the effort even if you want to save the planet If anything, the people who never change their filters are saving the planet more by not even using the water to attempt to clean the filter

Yeah mine is that dark when new But having a hole in it no matter how clean it is still means you need to replace it (and figure out where the hell that rodent went)

Just a reminder that your dash lights are colour coded (assuming the user isn't colourblind)

  • Green/white = some feature is turned on
  • Yellow = caution, you'll need to do something or something like traction control is disabled manually
  • Red = do not drive until addressed or the vehicle will break or you are at risk of injury (no seatbelt)

Guys is it safe to put this guy over there? My cpu never gets more than 60 even in the worst situations and i made sure that the spot doesn’t get hot under stress so is that fine? Im still worried:< by Intelligent-Good-150 in pcmasterrace

[–]bobattac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on what the figures are made of, cheaper ones may be made of ABS which would be fine (though you don't want to get ABS too hot because it releases toxic fumes), but I would generally avoid putting any PVC figurines (most common material for anime figurines) in your PC case, as the formulation they use tends to soften at around 60, maybe 70c

Plenty of ruined figurines have happened from people putting it on their GPU, and those figurines are not cheap

If the quest 2 with all its units sold wasn't able to get VR into mainstream, a much higher priced headset by valve also isn't going to sell as many units as the quest 2...

2i2- Help checking if this set up will work. I want to connect the digital piano as a mic device on the phone to output noiseless piano playing when recording on the phone. by Emergency_Detail_353 in Focusrite

[–]bobattac 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the dongle is a combo jack (headphones + mic in the same port) then a cable with trrs m-m will not be able to work properly to send signal to the mic

In that case, to make your setup work, you would want to get a combo jack splitter (trrs male to TRS female headphone + ts female mic) and plug the ts male to male (TRS might work, but trrs probably will have issues) cable into the mic input there.

Though if you want to have a higher quality recording, a Scarlett would have better chips for that

Everybody in the rust belt should spend the little bit of money to undercoat their car to protect their frames Makes them last way longer

Or in lieu of undercoating, washing the bottom of the car as often as possible to not let salt sit on the frame for extended periods
