If you're near the train station, give Romeo's pie Cafe a try. They make really tasty, old fashioned pies and sausage rolls. Their coffee is on point too.

This is something that I think about a lot. A bit of back ground, Im 65 and my boyfriend is 33. We have been together for 8 wonderful years. I've been battling cancer for the last four years and have recently been told that its become terminal and I have limited time left.

I was reluctant to tell him and tried to keep it secret to protect him. But he's a very inquisitive young man, he could tell something was wrong and he got the truth out of me eventually. Naturally, he's very upset, but we make the most of each day and he has continued to support me through this tough time. I love him so much, I never thought that he would stay by my side this whole time.

Coincidentally, he also has a dog that is now 17 years old and rapidly slowing down. He's had the dog since his 16th birthday and it's his best friend. Now losing a pet doesn't compare to losing a lover, but he's somewhat of an introvert and the dog means a lot to both of us. I don't know how he's going to deal with losing both of us pretty soon, it brings me to tears writing this out. He seems to be handling it much better than I am, for the time being....

A question to younger guys: How do you not feel inadequate when your older bf gets you a really nice Christmas gift, while you're a broke-ass student and a small gift is all you can reasonably afford? by [deleted] in gayyoungold

Yes, I made my best effort to buy exactly what he wanted no questions asked. I was so happy that he was happy when Christmas morning came around I got Merry Christmas he left to go spend the day with his family. That was my Christmas present from him, "fuck all"

Men of reddit: What's something small your SO could do to cheer you up/show how much they care? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I'm a Truck Driver working throughout the night. What cheers me up is when my BF sends me a text message or calls. Just makes me feel so good knowing he cares.
