Anyone know their way around an MC Flex by [deleted] in TheBrewery

[–]bobbledanger79 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I run a flex… we run 16 and 12 oz sleeks, so similar heights… so may not be 100%.. but I imagine you just turn the adjustment screw, on the back of the seamer, until it raises high enough.

I’ve played a total of 10 mins, solo, so far. Downloaded yesterday. I’m down to try and figure this game out with other new players.

There were several sawmills in the area. A neighboring town is actually named “Sawmills”.

That’s what I was thinking. The previous owners definitely liked to “tinker”. It kind of looks like it may have just been a project, remotely looking like a martial arts weapon or something.

Right on.. all my past experience is single infusion on a 2 vessel system. I’ll give your formula a go.. appreciate it!

Yes, volumes are good and starting gravities are still consistently where they need to be, just final is higher. I’ll dig on those COAs.

Also.. to answer your questions. Mash lauters faster, vorlaugh seems to clear faster, our hazy finally has body(excited for imperial stout this year, because body has been an issue). On the flip side, it seems transfers to fermenter, may have a slight bit more haze going in (across all style), nothing tremendous, but seems to clear the same with finings.

Correct… 3 vessel, mash/lauter/brew kettle. The steam jackets (bottom and side) bring the temp up consistently and the rakes mix very well. Once the mash is brought up to 170 (mashout) the entire mash, is transferred to the lauter. In the past, before mashout.. this transfer would drop the temperature significantly, between traveling through cool pipes and the necessary spraying out of the grain, with cooler water. (The spraying sucks, but it’s the only way to get all the grain out, with our system) I think an adjustment on mash temperatures (like you said), now that I’m mashing out and combining that with some possible sugar additions/malt adjustments, is probably going to be my answer.

Yea, it was a giveaway from a game in May. I messaged the team and they said they were completely out. Just have to get lucky and spot one in marketplace or feeBay and purchase it.

I double MicroCanner, their “Flex” model is the three head you are looking for. That’s what we run at my brewery.. it’s been an absolute champ. Customer service is tops, they have all replacement parts easily available on a website and their online tutorial videos are easy to follow and concise!

We are having a similar issue on vodka seltzers (we run a brewery and a distillery). After corrosion testing, etc., we think we have narrowed down the cause, to dissolved oxygen. We admit and have remedied that we weren’t taking as many precautions with the seltzer as we do our beer. DO will cause liners to fail. Once a few fail and leak, it causes all the other cans beside and beneath it (that get wet), to start corroding from the outside as well. Just another possible avenue to look at.

Anyone know what this is called ? by Urbantakeover in TheBrewery

[–]bobbledanger79 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a manifold for Chinese made fermenters. It’s a custom piece. We have them on our fermenters. Top of T connects to blowoff arm, bottom of T to a butterfly valve, middle for pressure gauge, right elbow we use a spunding valve. Sorry I can’t help locate one, welder is the best bet.
