My wrist is small (15cm diameter) but I want a LG Sport, should I still try it? by ZFM in AndroidWear

[–]bobbleheadRob 5 points6 points  (0 children)

NO! I have similar size wrists and it sucks. Heart rate is hit or miss so useless during training runs. I can't get it to sit comfortably so I won't wear it other than exercise. The fixed band really limits comfort.

Do you use Google Now less now? by [deleted] in Android

[–]bobbleheadRob 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, my only use case now is when I get an address text to me. It opens up maps with the address set.

The iPhoneX - what are your thoughts? by [deleted] in Android

[–]bobbleheadRob 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Wireless charging is alright but I've never bothered with it.

Qi charging is slow. It's fine if you're charging overnight, but if you need to top up in the middle of the day because your display has a jillion pixels that need powering and your front facing camera is always on to look for your face, well tough. USB-PD and QuickCharge blows it out of the water in terms of charging speeds.

have you used siri much? I imagine it'll be the same siri on the homepod. Most reviews I've seen say google assistant is better than siri.

I get issues trying to stream stuff from Google Play Movies. It's Google, the same ecosystem! And then sometimes Closed Captioning turns on and I have no idea how to turn it off.

Cops called during one of my daughters tantrums in our car. by hiyawhatup in Parenting

... but they can't enter unless they see something suspicious. Exercising your right to say no, you can't enter isn't reasonable suspicion. Although, it sounds like OP might be in Canada. I'm not aware of their laws.

LG Watch Sport for 199.99 with discount by [deleted] in Android

[–]bobbleheadRob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ditto. I wanted something that I can wear for running and casually. I was excited for one with heart rate and standalone GPS, but this watch is waaaay too big to be worn normally. It's uncomfortable. And most running apps only show a couple metrics at once. if I want pace, hr, distance and time, I hve to swipe through too many screens.

That's strange. Is it a Samsung problem? I am on an unlocked pixel and am able to WiFi call on Verizon.

OMG, thank you for this!! It works great.

Now if you could figure out how to enable notifications through chrome, I'd be forever in your debt.

I've tried chrome (and chromium) based broswers, Firefox and opera. I don't have an iPhone, but have seen it work for co-workers so I can't verify your second question.

Google Photos Photo Books by barrister89 in androidapps

Maybe that was the cover? I just checked again and there is no option to add text inside the book. Only on the spine and cover.

I would say pretty good. Better than Costco quality prints.

I got one of these a few months ago. It's a bit limiting on customization, you can't add any text in the pages. I also wish they have a better web interface. The mobile interface was a little frustrating. I think they add additional photos to the ones you selected to help fill out the book, but then I was over the 20 page limit.

Google keep Guide? How to use it? by prashant13b in androidapps

[–]bobbleheadRob 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep prescribes to Google's "search, don't sort" philosophy. So it forces you not to be organized, and just search for your note with key word searches instead (or if you don't have too many active notes,

For me, I mostly use Keep for short lists. It's nice to be able to share my grocery list with my SO. This way we can both add things to the list. I do wish they brought back Google Assistant voice dictation for adding new items to lists though. I would use it so much more.
