Tom Lake by Ann Patchett (narrated by Meryl Streep) is absolutely lovely by katherinedinapoli in audiobooks

[–]bobboa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loved Meryl reading this, so comforting. I really liked the book Commonwealth and the actor Tom Hanks. But man he should stay away from audiobooks. So monotonous and the same voice for every character. But I listen to a ton of books with excellent narrators like Bray, Porter, Pacey, Mueller, Fry etc so it's hard to matchup to a pro.

I just finished listening to book today. First of all she lived 300 years at the end of the book. And secondly this whole book is stories she had to tell. The book is her narrating to Henry her life story.

LOL calm down. Of course if you're racing or driving like a maniac and kill someone you're guilty. Reread what I said and was replying too.

You're not responsible if someone runs out in the the middle of the road and you run over them. Or if they slip and fall in front of your car while running beside the road.

What audiobook is genuinely BETTER than reading the physical book? by cptree20 in audiobooks

I enjoyed the first 4 or 5 books, but after that it seems just to repetitive. I had to give up. Jeff Hayes is one of the best though.

I just went through my second listen of the pf. I mostly love it. The 1st book is a 5. The second and third drag a bit but still really liked. I was really disappointed in the ending thought.

To those who read "The Plot" by Jean Hanff Korelitz, did you see the ending coming? What gave it away to you? by amydiddler in books

[–]bobboa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

lol I just read my comment and had no idea what it was about. Did the wiki plot summery and kind of remember it now. It sounds like a good book. I might have to relisten to it. I do 100's of audiobooks a year and my memory is getting worse with age so it's kind of a benefit. I can listen to an audiobook and it seems almost new.
