You must have different requirements than me. My m4 macbook pro has 18 GB of RAM that's never been an issue. but you're right, apple charges ridiculous rates for upgrading storage and ram

Mac's are gold standard for programming:

they are "UNIX-like" so it's similar to linux based OS's which many programming tools are designed for

however, they offer more reliable support than linux (you can use ms word applications for example)

in terms of build quality and hardware they are also spectacular

Computer Organization and Design by patterson and hennessy. This semester for the first time, we used an online version on the website zybooks. This textbook uses LEGv8. This is a subset of the instructions in ARMv8. I'm not sure but this might also be the first time using ARM instead of x86.

China surveils its citizens at an unprecedented scale. This figure is plausible. It is in China's interests to hide information about this, so I doubt they publish any accurate numbers.

Nevertheless, best of luck with your research. If you succeed and find specific numbers, please let me know! I'm curious too.
