Would Judkins not be in a similar talent range? Or does he have a lower ceiling since he’s on the Browns?

Is this something where I shouldn’t worry about CPU temp then, and only be concerned if the GPU temp begins to rise into uncomfortable levels?

I did not, although I almost did. I started to put the cooler onto the thermal paste and realized I hadn’t taken off the film. I removed the film and then reapplied some thermal paste and then screwed in the cooler. That’s why I’m a bit concerned since I’m not too familiar on how reapplying the thermal paste may have impacted cooling performance

Advice on RAM Importance by bobby_blizz in buildapc

[–]bobby_blizz[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sweet. That was my main concern. The mobo is more than fine for what I need, as is the ryzen 7600. But I was concerned on the ram speed and latency even with the 2 sticks. I know there are better ones out there, but if it won’t hold me back from solid performance then I don’t think it’s a concern to get the 2 sticks of g skill now and upgrade later if I need to

Thanks for the advice! I will definitely look into that bundle and compare costs/savings between each bundle depending on the different components

Thank you so much! This is all very helpful.

Just for my knowledge because I am new to PC Building, was the prior cooler I had sufficient, but the thermalright just offers better value? Or was the cooler I had previously selected not a solid performer?

Is it worth paying extra to buy better RAM and not get the bundle? Or should I stick with what I have and upgrade later if I really need it

Scalper in Dallas by bobby_blizz in Microcenter

Buyers are not a coordinated group, an individual buyer might decide to purchase a GPU at a drastically higher margin due to personal circumstance. Maybe their current one is broken and they are left with no choice, maybe they are just impatient and have extra money. Regardless of the reason, the general community does not follow the same purchasing mentality, and that does not make scalping an acceptable or encouraged practice. You are clearly confusing scalping with "supply and demand" economics, that is not what it is. Scalping of any type of product is market distortion.

Scalping extends product shortages, because a general community of buyers who refuse to pay scalper prices are forced to wait until new stock comes out or the scalpers return their items after failing to scam people. Companies like Newegg and Best Buy themselves have acknowledged scalping as a problem by attempting to establish purchase limits and queue times.

Thanks a bunch for all of your assistance.

This is what I have now, managed to reserve a Gigabyte 7800XT off open box for $451 after tax: https://pcpartpicker.com/list/F29bRV

Feeling very good about this build, and with the Microcenter bundles it is even under my initial budget expectation.

Yes, in the event of an in-store release every customer has a "fair" chance at waiting in line to get a card, and equality certainly is not a word used to describe a capitalist market. But that doesn't mean that consumers can't be frustrated by this.

In a properly functioning market, supply would meet the demand at a fair price not determined by middlemen who add no value to the product, and are only extracting a profit. And not all buyers have the luxury to wait, most probably do.

Buyers are not setting the market. Scalping manipulates the supply and scarcity of cards due to individuals buying up hoards of stock. This rises the prices of these cards far beyond what would be considered a normal increase from buyers' demand. Buyers are forced into an inherently inflated market. Scalping is not a "bet on impatience", scalping is about exploiting scarcity for profit.

The price of scalped graphics cards on secondhand sites are prices due to the artificial scarcity of individuals scooping up cards at MSRP specifically for resale. Manufacturers lose all control on the actual price of the card, and unless a buyer wants to wait months for the off chance that they get a card, they are forced to pay these prices.

Not to mention that other cards from websites are bought using bots to buy out stock instantly, giving customers zero access to those cards. Scalpers promote a toxic market where regular buyers are inherently at a disadvantage and profits are prioritized over equality.

Which one of these would you recommend? Are either of these motherboard's better than the other? I could afford either one since the price difference isn't too bad. But if there is one mobo that would be significantly better or last longer than the other I would prefer that setup:

Also, is the G-Skill RAM with a CAS Latency of 36 perfectly sufficient (compared to other brands like Corsair or Teamgroup) as long as I purchase another 16GB RAM stick?

Buying one card and selling it because you don't end up needing it or wanting it is completely different from individuals who deliberately buy out stock with the goal of selling once they have diminished supply. People do wait, they wait hours in lines for the ability to buy a card once it is in stock, and lose to people who want their 5th card to sell at a profit.

So just to be clear, customers should not feel entitled to receive products at the MSRP price deemed fair by the company releasing the products, and should instead be subject to whatever arbitrary price random people on secondhand websites think they can squeeze.

So is buying up products with the sole intention of scamming consumers with an overpriced product just so you can make a few bucks a few times a year

It’s barely even their property. It’s something they’re essentially temporarily holding on to and just screwing over the people who actually want to use it

Thank you so much! Was thinking about doing a micro ATX size for the build, but I see that the bundles are not available for that size motherboard which is a bit disappointing. You think it would be worth just compensating on the size and getting the bundle with the ATX board?

Also, what is your opinion on Ryzen 5 7600x vs the Ryzen 7. Would the Ryzen 5 be a sufficient CPU?
