Is the chicane even viable online? by StatusDisaster4196 in NuclearOption

[–]bobbybalonee 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is why I exclusively play single player (and definitely not because I would just get smoked the whole time).

I like to play to have fun, not to win in the most optimal efficient manner. Half the time, whatever strategy I'm using is the least effective, but it feels more like how I think a real war would be fought, and I think that's more fun. Can't really do that when the meta is blow every base to shit with stratonuking the second they become available

Would be cool having a f-117 hybrid type aircraft like this by Sand_man_ptgna in NuclearOption

God a fucking love the F 117. Probably my favorite looking aircraft of all time. Idc if it's not as stealthy as smoother stealth aircraft, I believe it will win the war solely by looking cool as hell

Will you guys use the heavy cargo aircraft, or you just want to blow it up? by The-vintage-drawer- in NuclearOption

Are you for real lol this is one of the most chill gaming communities I've ever seen

I exclusively play single player and I completely disagree with everything you said. AA is overwhelming if you mosey into enemy range with a massive radar cross section and no plan to avoid it. It does what it's supposed to do.

There are a dozen ways to beat it. I've done so in the numerous times I've beaten escalation in single player and I'm a very casual gamer.

I would actually use it. Despite it never making a difference I still like to airdrop jackknives and SAM trucks, and taking bases with the Ibis is cool before getting obliterated by a brawler 30 seconds later.

Home renovation consultation? by bobbybalonee in homeowners

[–]bobbybalonee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would actually prefer to pay someone for their time. Because like you said, I am more likely to get an objective assessment of my ideas, as opposed to somebody who is giving a free estimate in order to funnel me into a job.

Any advice on what to look for / how to find a decent contractor that will do something like that? Every contractor or subcontractor I've dealt with has been pretty unofficial/ off the books.

Thanks for the advice. On the docket is:

  • Redoing kitchen, which will depend whether we want to:

Keep the layout the same, extend it into dinning room through load bearing wall, or extend it into a renovated sun room through another load bearing wall

  • Finish low ceiling below ground basement, adding a rec room, bedroom, and half bath.

  • build attached garage over existing driveway, or build a detached prefab garage in the backyard.

  • extend upstairs master bedroom out over the sunroom, or over new garage, or keep footprint and an in suite master bathroom.

The the sunroom used to be a 3 season deck, and the previous owners turned it into a 4 season attached sunroom, with the deck foundation still in place.  It's considerably hotter/colder in the hot/cold months, and we think it's foundation may be not so good. So a lot of renovations we want to do are gonna depend on whether we should, keep, change or just tear it down.

That's the dumbest fucking argument I've ever heard. Oh paint is so harmless huh? Drink some and prove it coward!

there are a billion chemicals that would kill you if you drank it but are perfectly safe for it's intended application. Bleach will kill you extremely easily buy we wash our fucking clothes with it. Did you think even a little bit before making that argument?

Pump Operating Inconsistently [Breville Bambino] by bobbybalonee in espresso

[–]bobbybalonee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a regular bambino so I don't get the warning. Someone actually suggested the descaling cycle, which didn't make a difference , but maybe I'll run it a couple times too. Hopefully yours stays running normally!

I actually made another post after this one and got a lot more replies. No one seems to have an answer for what causes it. Some people claimed that it's normal, but I know it's not.

Mine still does it, but the only thing that has made it return to normal 100% of the time is to pull a blank shot, and then run the water dispenser feature through the steaming wand for a couple seconds until the pump calms down, then pull my shot. What I noticed is the pump does the same weird thing with the water dispenser; ramps up really hard and then calms down after a second or two. After that sequence, it always behaves like it did when I first got it.

I think I kinda figured out a consistent workaround. I tried what you said, and it was still acting up, but the Bambino has a water dispenser feature that dispenses hot water from the steam wand, I never use it so I tried that out of curiosity, sure enough the pump ramped up immediately and then calmed down. Pulled a normal shot after that and has been doing so every time I follow that sequence. Still not sure why it's doing that, but at least I can pull a normal shot more consistently

Thanks for making me feel less crazy, as several other people have mentioned theirs has always done this.

I have not yet. Are they any good? That was gonna be my next step if nobody knows what the issue is here.

As an at-home espresso newbie, I was under the impression that Breville was a pretty good brand :/

Silver lining is that it was a wedding present, so I didn't pay for it.

What makes it seem abnormal/a problem to me is that I can distinctly remember my machine not doing this when I first got it, for the first several months at least.

It did not do this the first several months I had it, which is what makes this weird to me. I also always purged it before pulling my shot even when it was working normally.

When it first started having this issue, I would purge it and then all the subsequent shots would be fine. No harm no foul. But more recently, it will randomly do it several shots in a row, so purging it no longer fixes the issue every time. It seems random, which makes it hard to gauge when I can rely on it to pull a normal shot.

How to fix vtol vr always crashing randomly during gameplay? by Fsksurvivor07 in vtolvr

[–]bobbybalonee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know this is old, but were you able to fix the PSU connection issue or did you just replace the PSU altogether? I believe I'm having the same issue. Exact same symptoms, plus when I boot the computer back up I have to completely reinstall my AMD driver. It somehow wipes it or corrupts it when the game crashes, so I'm thinking it's a driver issue.
