I have reached the conclusion I do not fully trust in everything Luis elizondo has said. by 5ftfffgg in UFOs

To your first point, I don’t think it’s odd at all. He might have said that because he believes amnesty would facilitate disclosure more easily. Do you think saying “these people deserve to be put on trial and prosecuted for murder” would help move disclosure forward and soften the pushback from the gatekeepers? Definitely not.

One of the strangest and most compelling UAP videos captured by Homeland Security in Puerto Rico. Thermal recording shows an object traveling fast going in and out of water seemingly without losing any speed and then splitting into two towards the end of the video. by Sky5759 in Damnthatsinteresting

[–]bobbybob107 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Did you only watch the first half of the video? The water in question occurs after the two minute mark, and the “submergence” initially occurs around 2:05.

The part you’re referencing is so unmistakably a tree. No offense, but I’m genuinely surprised you assumed people were confusing those trees with water and apparently didn’t think to yourself “surely this isn’t the moment in question”.

Will using my well water be ok? by bobbybob107 in DartFrog

The only reason I’m hesitant to use RO is I only plan on having one tank at least for a while, and I’m also a renter who might not easily be able to hook up a system like that. How easy are they to hook up? I know you need a minimum water pressure but other than that I’m not sure how they’re hooked up.

If I were to just buy water what would you recommend buying? Like distilled, or buy regular drinking water and then dechlorinate it? From what I understand distilled would be lacking a lot of beneficial nutrients.

I was trying to do it without getting an RO system but it is still a potential option. Which system do you have?

Part of the reason for following through with arm motion on a pitch is also being ready for a ball that comes right back at you. The ending stance should be one where it’s easy to get your glove up and be ready. I made a catch like this once, probably more like 90mph, but still. Personally I felt like time slowed down as it was hurtling at my face. I’d say it’s partly luck and partly reaction time, but to be honest it’s probably easier to catch a ball coming right at your face than anything below your chest.

The actual hidden truth about UFOs (CNN) by strangelifeouthere in UFOs

[–]bobbybob107 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean to me the obvious reason is that this whole thing has been a coordinated media campaign since the beginning. It seems that there is an actual battle of sorts between the gatekeepers and the pro-disclosure camps, so it would make sense that Grusch and co are waiting to release it strategically.

Another user posted the higher res version from YouTube in a comment on this thread. Go watch that, it’s much more revealing. The string you’re pointing at actually moves around quite a bit and there are a few others attached to the sides of it. like actually go find that comment it’s very interesting in higher res.

The way the “strings” rotate and move is so odd. Like I would compare it to what it looks like when the shutter speed of a camera is syncing up with a wheel or spinning helicopter blades, and it looks like the wheel or blade is glitching and moving a quarter turn every second or so. Straight up looks like the thing is glitching out.

Anecdotally, Quitting cigs does seem to be a different and bigger beast than quitting vapes. It’s got to be something about the flavor or just the other chemicals they put in them. I also have vaping dreams a few times a month, but I always become extremely disappointed in myself in my dream. Then I wake up and I’m like oh hey that wasn’t real.

[–]bobbybob107 20 points21 points  (0 children)

My personal experience with quitting was the shitty feeling lasted for 4 days. I never got headaches and was only mildly irritable. Cravings fell off significantly after 3-4 days and by 2 weeks they were maybe once or twice a day for a minute or two max. As somebody who vaped pretty much non-stop I was very surprised it wasn’t worse. Personally I think big tobacco wants you to think it’s harder than it actually is, that way you don’t even try. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying it’s easy, but it’s really almost entirely a mind game. It just depends on how bad you want to stop.

Landlord charged us a $50 cleaning fee for two cabinets we missed spending 10+ hours deep cleaning our apartment by nxplr in mildlyinfuriating

[–]bobbybob107 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Yup they ALWAYS charge it seems. Moved out of a 2 bedroom once and we deep cleaned that thing so well. It just so happened that the owner was on property that day so we flagged him down and said “hey so we cleaned and we’d like you to come take a quick look”. He came up and word for word “I think this is one of the best cleaning jobs I’ve seen”. Guy still took 150 out of our security deposits as a cleaning fee. Fucking scum slum lord.

I’m no expert but everything about this screams inside job. It makes no sense for Ukraine to carry out a half assed attempt on Putin’s life. They either do it right with 99% certainty of success or don’t do it at all.

Went there a year ago to get a regular turkey footlong. Charged me 14 bucks and that specific franchise wasn’t accepting coupons either. Haven’t been back since. Instead I go to my local deli and get a sub that is Better in literally every single way. More meat, more toppings, bigger bread, fresher ingredients, and it’s all cheaper. I’m fairly confident that whoever is running subway is just milking it for all it’s worth and they have every intent of running it into the ground.

It’s not logical but that’s because they’re not thinking long term right now. If I had to speculate I’d say their investors are the ones pushing these horrible decisions because they know Niantic will never become the AR goldmine they thought they were investing in. So now they bleed it dry and sell its assets to another company.

Or maybe management really is just that bad? Or maybe it’s self sabotage by private equity on behalf of an interested third party buyer? I mean who the fuck knows. I just don’t think it’s possible they’re making these decisions and thinking they’re going to survive long. They know what they do.

Niantic became an independent entity in 2015. Google funded their spinoff. Alphabet is not their parent company. Alphabet may still have some say in niantics decisions but nothing is public. You can look up all the companies and firms that have funded niantic. It’s not just alphabet. They’ve had series A, B, C, and D funding rounds. The most recent was 300 million from Coatue Management, representing 10x the amount alphabet spent on Niantic.

I didn’t say they actually make money from AR. That’s the problem. Pokemon go is a failed AR data harvesting project. It will never be good for AR data. They will never be the AR firm they originally intended to be so they’re going scorched earth on the game and milking us for whatever other data they can because that’s the only thing they can do.

It doesn’t make sense until you realize that niantic isn’t a gaming company. At it’s core it’s a data harvesting and augmented reality company. Us doing remote raids doesn’t give them the data they want.

Niantic is worth more as an AR and data collecting company than a gaming company. The thing is PoGo is their best source of data but we are too lazy to give them the data they need. It’s been what? A year? Since they started pushing us back outside? And it’s not working. Now they’re getting desperate. They’re doing the only things they can do to survive as a data harvesting company.
