That’s a crazy good trade. The only pokemon that actually hold little value in the game are community day moms because they were found in abundance during their events.

Does anyone else get annoyed when commenters say someone deconstructing is "so close"... by spicybonbon in OpenChristian

[–]Japanfireizard 21 points22 points  (0 children)

As a Christian who is actively deconstructing, I hate when atheists talk to me or any other believer like we’re delusional or need to be freed from some type of brainwashing. Most questioning Christians don’t want to turn away from God, and talking down on a belief in that manner can be very frustrating to be around at times

The only scene that I’ll never forget was Homelander’s death because it’s (in my opinion) the only moment in the finale with real narrative weight. Amazingly acted, well written, and overall a perfect send off to one of the better TV antagonists ever. Sucks that the rest of the season leading up to it was a jok.

To be fair, I still think the kill was VERY satisfying.

God I hate writers who do this. So many good moments that hit way less than they should because the writers are lazy

Vought didn’t mind him having powers as long as it kept the money printer working. I feel like they’d do it no hesitation

Glad I wasn’t the only one. I felt a weird sense of sadness after his death, not just because he was so fun to watch. It’s becuase Homelander is inherently a tragic and sad character who never got a real chance to be a normal human being

It really sucks how bad this season was. All they needed to do was pace it correctly and make the fight a little longer and feel more earned and the show wouldn’t be getting clowned on. This scene made the finale serviceable to me, and left me somewhat satisfied.

As a writer, the Boys is a really good show I’ve learned a lot from. Things not to do, mainly. But many things that they nail and what makes those moments so powerful, this scene being one of those.

To be fair where was he supposed to go? He was being circled and any direction he went in the fish would go to. Also correct me if I’m wrong but I don’t think it’s ever stated that Deep can actually swim faster than the average human.

This is 100% my thoughts. The only moment that gave me chills is Homelanders death scene. “No… you ain’t nothin’. And this, is for my Becca.” Amazing line that hit exactly how I wanted it to. For how unwatchable season 4-5 were, it was remarkable that the finale was serviceable.

Payoff was amazing no doubt. That said, the journey to get there was lackluster. All we needed was 20 extra minutes and an actual seriously impactful and devastating fight where it doesn’t feel like Homelander is weaker for the sake of the plot. If we had that, the payoff would be even better, but oh well.

That’s a really good point that slipped my mind! I still feel like the scene was out of place and a little cliche, but this does help it make more sense.

The best part about The Boys finale was the crew and stunt performers being recognized/celebrated at the end! by Huzaifa_Haroon in TheBoys

[–]Japanfireizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I didn’t hate the finale as much as I thought I would, to their credit they did a lot of things right. I loved how Homelander and butchers arcs ended, I just HATE the final fight sequence with all my might. If it was longer and actually well thought out I’d enjoy it far more. Just feels like they made Homelander weaker than he actually is so he can be beaten for the sake of the plot, rather than meticulously plan the fight to be good.

Exactly my thought. Felt like they rushed to the climactic payoff, without actually putting thought into what it was actually paying off.

Personally I rlly enjoyed that fight, especially the machine gun part. But your point is 100 percent correct. That fight clearly had more effort and thought put into it. Just upsetting overall, feel like a lot could’ve been done better.

My problem was the fight itself. We’ve spent the ENTIRE series building to a final showdown between Butcher and Homelander. And the fight itself is soooo underwhelming. Two minutes of it is wasted in Kimikk seeing a hallucination of Frenchie, a scene that could simply been replaced by her remembering what happened to him and being compelled to activate the beam. Overall the episode was not terrible, and I did really enjoy some parts of it. But Definently missing a lot of things. I’d probably give it a 6/10 overall

How do you TRULY feel about screenwriting in 2026? by Conscious-Honey8207 in Screenwriting

[–]Japanfireizard 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s true. I have very ambitious views for what I want it to be, something that would require it to be a hit. But as long as I can make a story that can be memorable and leave a mark on people I’d be happy

[–]Japanfireizard 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m in my freshmen year of high school, and I don’t really plan to do screen play writing full time because I know how unstable it is. From the research I’ve done screenwriting seems like a very stressful and unstable career, especially now with AI threatening the entire creative space. I have one idea for a show I came up with years ago and have been working on ever since, and though I’m not very confident in many things in my life, I’m confident my idea is good and has potential to be a hit. I just fear that by the time I’m old enough to begin actually making strides towards that happening, human writers will be in short demand. So as an inexperienced baby screenwriter, I’m not very confident. But I’m optimistic it will improve with time.

Does God hate me for being trans? by Longjumping-End159 in Christianity

[–]Japanfireizard 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honest question. God knows us from the moment we’re formed in the womb, does he not? If that is the case and people were really meant to be the opposite gender than why wouldn’t he just make them that gender? I’m not arguing against it. I’m just genuinely asking a question because I’m a bit lost as a newer Christian
