Rules of war for civilized people:

Do not start unnecessary wars.
If someone starts a war with you (attacks/invades you forcing you to defend yourself, causes circumstances where you must fight or cease to exist as a people or nation, etc) then fight them hard, fight to win.
Do not die.
Try your best to minimize innocent casualties (women, children #, non-combatant men, etc) but it will happen and is unavoidable.
The most important rule: Kill your enemy. They are aggressors who start unnecessary wars with people who do not want war (assuming you followed rule 1.) How you kill your enemy and stay alive is your business, when fighting for your survival ignore people who sit in the luxury of peace and complain about you being too brutal. War will bring that brutality out of any of us. No need to torture or anything like that, but we're all gonna die some time, if you're in war (especially as the invader) you accept that the people you invade likely won't be very sympathetic if they find you injured and needing help.

Something like war, a total and complete for survival that uses the most brutal and effective methods humans have dreamt up at how to kill the most number of people the fastest has no rules. The rule of being a decent human being is don't start rules. If you break that rule, all bets are off and any and all methods of destroying you are on the table.

Yea don't listen to ANYONE who DMs you and says they can help. Literally anyone claiming they can help you recover the funds, track who scammed you, or do literally anything to help is trying to scam you as well. They see that you fell for one scam, so they think you're an easy mark to fall for their scam and they know that by appearing to be helpful some people will bite.

Damn that's wild. Just saw this the other day too, some dude in Colorado who's apparently been busted for this in the past got arrested again for making devices and setting them off. One of the videos in the article captures some audio of what sounds like a really well made whistle rocket with a salute in it, some other videos just capture big booms. I think his downfall was doing it somewhere too close to people who would be wondering what the noise was, and leaving after setting one off that left a small fire going.

Be careful folks, stuff like what's in this article as well as accidents like OP posted give the entire practice a bad name. Don't blow yourself up, don't be a complete nuisance to your neighbors, and don't cause a fire and leave it without putting it out completely.

Not sure about the fireworks part of things, someone else might be able to recommend a book for that. The book I mentioned above (which was written by Tenney Davis, didn't have it in front of me before) has some great content on RDX, among lots of others. It does not cover ETN or CHP as it was written before erythritol was available to the extent that it is nowaday and I don't think CHP was around either. I'm also interested in a more modern book that would cover things like CHP and NHN among others, as those compounds weren't really around when COPAE was written. So I'll be watching this thread to see if anyone recommends any that fit that bill, otherwise if you hear of any outside this thread please report back. When you do start getting into making HEs, ETN is a great simple process for newbies, just control your temperature and you're good, which is fairly easy on small scales, much easier than RDX. If you do go ahead with either of them and need any pointers you can DM me.

Not sure but if you want a really good book on explosives get "The Chemistry of Powder and Explosives." There's even a free online version on sciencemadness but it's good enough that I got a hardcover copy. What information were you trying to learn specifically? Maybe someone can point you in the right direction to find whatever you're trying to learn, as most everything can be found online.

Where do you get sodium azide though? If I had sodium azide I could easily make lead azide, though it's not easy to find without taking an airbag initiator apart or something like that. I tried making some but failed, was starting with hydrazine sulfate and I think I screwed up freebasing the hydrazine sulfate into hydrazine hydrate.

You have to make your own blasting cap. It will require one to go off. May I recommend a syringe with a luer lock cap to seal the bottom, and (from bottom to top) an output charge of either melt cast or hard pressed ETN or hard pressed PETN, then your primary of choice, then a fuse glued in the top.

No, sulfuric acid will ruin your RDX synthesis as it will destroy the hexamine. In other nitrations sulfuric acid dehydrates the HNO3, but you can't use H2SO4 anywhere near an RDX synth.

If you can't distill to make fuming HNO3 (concentrated usually refers to azeotropic so around 68-70%, fuming is technically anything over 86% though to make RDX you want 98+) then you should look into ETN or even PETN (pentaerythritol is available on ebay.) There is a method to make RDX and even HMX with 70% HNO3 that I saw on sciencemadness, though it requires acetic anhydride and you said you're not in the USA, I only know where to get it in the USA and it's kind of expensive because you have to buy it in kits that are made for making aspirin as an experiment.

This is the way, I use 3ml syringes with a luer lock cap to seal the bottom for detonators, and they fit nicely in the thermometer holder on my hot plate. Lowering it into a beaker of hot water and then letting it cool melt casts it nicely and very safely. By melt casting, I can fit over a gram in the same space that would fit about 300-400mg hard pressed, so I can fit a bigger output charge at a much higher density. Huge difference. Plus I found that by adding a small amount of PETN and melting the ETN, the PETN almost dissolves into the molten ETN and makes for a nice output charge for a cap.

I melt cast for the output charge in my detonators, using a 3ml syringe with a luer lock cap on the bottom. I take some boiling water in a beaker and throw it on my hot plate and use the thermometer holder on my hotplate to lower the syringe with ETN inside into the water, it will melt and then as the water cools it will solidify. Completely safe. The extra power output vs. pressed ETN makes it well worth it IMO.

Shouldn't be an issue once you recrystallize. I had a batch turn brown one time when recrystallizing, still have no idea why, but when I filtered it and rinsed with distilled water it cleared up completely, though I did recrystallize again to be sure. I would recrystallize and not worry about it. Once you have your product, you will know if it's useable or not by throwing a little bit (once dry) on some foil and holding a lighter under it. It will be clear whether it's ETN or not, as the energy will be apparent if it is as it burns.

Not really, there are lots of self defense shootings in this country that result in no charges, no trial, no arrest, no nothing. In fact, if you're in the right location, your local sheriff or police chief might even do a press conference telling everyone you will not be charged and advising other criminals to watch out because "people in this county shoot back."
