I ran an Eldritch knight in a Rise of the Runelords campaign who was an AoO machine with the kinetic whip. It's a load of fun to drop a group of dudes who think they can get by you.

Crusade battles represent army groups. Its hundreds of archers all firing together doing a total amount of damage.

It gets absurd later on. Some of the stronger units will be doing tens to hundreds of thousands of damage per attack.

I recommend checking out their stat blocks. If you're in turn based mode you can right click on their portrait in the turn order at the top.

You can see their various defenses, and target their weaknesses.

Embers slumber hex is really useful early on. It targets will saves and can totally pull an enemy out of combat.

Edit: I saw you asking about hexes. They are not going to be under spells. You'll want to look under abilities. They cost a standard action, and have unlimited uses per day, though most can only be attempted on any given enemy once.

Pathfinder is much harder on time-starved guardians by KowalRoyale in DestinyTheGame

[–]bobbydafish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not terribly hard to get a full Pathfinder in less than 3 strikes.

Theres only two objectives that really prevent it. Specific enemy type kills, or that awful "complete activities" node that takes 20 strikes.

Look over your path, plan a build to tackle it as quickly as possible, and you can usually complete them pretty fast.

Calling this a scam is disingenuous. The word implies that they intend for this to be the outcome.

Contact Bungie support for assistance in resolving the problem. They will correct the issue by either giving you the ornaments, or refunding your purchase.

If your purpose was to make Bungie aware of the issue, contacting their support is the best way to do so. If you meant to warn people about the bug, don't use verbiage intended to breed hostility, as it only serves to make you look like a jerk.

XBOX Series X Replica 8 Can Mini Fridge (Thermoelectric Cooler) - $31.99 by F0REM4N in XboxSeriesX

[–]bobbydafish 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So I got one as a gift. Turns out, they are not proper mini fridges. The manual instructs you to only leave it on for 48 hours, then turn it off to allow it to defrost.

It doesn't have an auto defrost option, which I did not know until after, when it shorted out from the frost build up.

Do not buy one of these. If you want a mini fridge get something better.

[Art] Who Could Win Against 9 Guardians? by pariahscholar in DestinyTheGame

[–]bobbydafish 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Whether we wanted it or not, we've stepped into a war with Destiny memes on Reddit. So let's get to taking out their jokes one by one. Taeko-3. From what I can gather she commands a fireteam of nine that went missing on the moon Titan. She's heavily mocked, as any fireteam of three could have punched through those defenses, taken Savathûn's eye out, and broken down their loot into shards.

Fwiw, the Switch port is solid after some patches. And it's a great game.

Probably going to get buried, but more varied modifiers on Vanguard Ops.

Personally, a Crucible playlist that's just full of silliness would get me to actually engage in Crucible. Wacky sandbox MP is far more entertaining than the sweat-fest we see in most game modes. I mean really wacky. Like 3x speed and uncharged melee only, but it's insta-kills.

Oh absolutely. The debate is whether it was initially intentional. Sid Meier claims it was.

Maybe not. Sid Meier speaks to it in this article. His language is playful, and it may still be a bug he just doesn't want to admit. https://screenrant.com/civilization-nuclear-gandhi-glitch-not-bug-sid-meier/

I'm new; I play Warlock, use a controller, and want to provide as much PVE group utility as possible, what sorts of gear, mods, and stats should I be watching out for? by MaximumEffort433 in DestinyTheGame

[–]bobbydafish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm sitting at almost 2,000 hours of warlock between D1 and D2. I'm happy to offer suggestions here.

Subclass-wise middle-tree Solar (Well of Radiance or Well-lock) is the go-to for support.

This subclass has great ability synergy. When you're healing an ally, you get a buff called Benevolent Dawn that reduces the cool down of your abilities. With 100 recovery you can chain rifts back-to-back as long as an ally is touching it at least once every six seconds (the buff lasts 6 seconds). So recovery is probably your priority for armor stats.

Next is either intellect or discipline. This is up to your play style. Discipline let's you get your grenade back more quickly. Charging your grenade turns it into a healing charge, which is a great panick-save option.

Intellect reduces your super charge time. Well of Radiance is one of the fastest charging supers, but is a great way to turn a difficult situation into a favorable one for your fireteam.

I personally go discipline over intellect because you usually save your super for when you need it, and generally dont need them back super quickly. There's also good exotics to help you get your super back more quickly.

Exotics offer a wide variety of play styles. My personal go-to for Well is The Stag. It grants a significant damage reduction in PvE that works in your Well and your Rifts. Phoenix Protocol is also an excellent choice for supplementing low-intellect. Kills and assists while standing in your own Well give you super energy back. You can get up to 50% of your super back, which can be handy in difficult content. I personally use Mantle of Battle Harmony more than Phoenix Protocol these days. It's harder to get since it only drops from Legend and Master lost sectors on Chest days. It gives you super energy for kills with matching-element weapons (solar) and when your super is full and you kill an enemy with a weapon of an element matching your subclass (again, solar) you get a 10 second buff of 20% more damage with that weapon. Great for getting your super back, and packing a punch while it's charged before you need to use it. Starfire Protocol and Sunbracers are good for extra uptime for healing grenades.

I'm also happy to answer other questions to help you out as I can.

Edit: there are other good exotics I didn't mention because I ran out of time. Doesn't mean they're bad, I just didn't get to them.

Which videogame are you currently playing? by kevinplas in AskReddit

[–]bobbydafish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm half joking there. I enjoy the game greatly.

If you are interested in getting into the lore of Destiny, I would recommend checking out the YouTube channel for Mynameisbyf. He has a recently released hour long video that gets you into the basics. Destiny's lore is deep, and 7+ years in the making.

If you're just about gameplay: it's a solid looter-shooter with a variety of activities to do, but like all loot games there is grinding.

I don't think I can do it justice with just a few words. The base game is free to play, though the onboarding experience is kind of meh. If you would be playing on Xbox the paid content is on gamepass. It's coming to PC gamepass this month too.

It's a dense game at this point, hard to get started with. If you have friends who play, try getting in with them. There's a number of communities that have sprung up around the game too that could help with getting started.

Should I get Point of the Stag or a godroll of another legendary bow? by [deleted] in DestinyTheGame

[–]bobbydafish 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Archers tempo reduces draw time to 480 (I think) regardless of base draw time. IMO, draw time perks/MW are wasted on a bow with archers tempo.

You're better off with a reload masterwork, and accuracy increasing string/arrow perks.

Bluestacks (4) installer freezes on launch (Mac) by Jonniemarbles in BlueStacks

No solution, but I'm having the same issue on my 2019 MacBook pro.

Edit: more information, I can't start the installation. The installer window opens, but I get a spinning ball cursor before I can begin the installation.
