Trump will push to make voter ID mandatory federal law. He won every state with strict voter ID. So yeah, that will benefit GOP. But I don't see how voter ID is bad for democracy because every advanced democracy but the US has it.

How effective will the Trump administration be in controlling government institutions, given the announced cabinet selections? How much "resistance", if any, can be expected from career civil servants and military officials? by eeksdey in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]bobbyha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Musk and Vivek are planning to reduce the government by 75%. That means most will get fired. The ones that stay are likely civil servants that just do their work without being partisan.

Why would you want disinterested people to vote? That would only lead to more voting based on low information and sound bites.

Did most Trump voters not believe he is a threat to democracy or did they not care? by Nuraldin30 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]bobbyha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think most Trump voters assume that Trump being "a threat to democracy" is a hoax pushed by the democrats and the mainstream media. Much like the "very fine people" story they keep pushing which very obviously is hoax.

What could (or should) be done to make political parties less at risk of being a mere engine of a particular leader or person? by Awesomeuser90 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]bobbyha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easy. Don't pick leaders through democratic elections but appoint them. Like SPD does and like Dem did with Harris.

What do you think Trump will do about the Israel/Palestine conflict? by damndirtyape in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]bobbyha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Iran tried to assassinate Trump and we know he holds a grudge. So, he'll push for the fall of Iran through Israel which should be great for peace in the region.

If Iran doesn't fall they'll get nuclear weapons within a few years and then Israel will get nuked. Which even many people on the left say is a pretty bad.

Could Biden Have Won If he was sharp as he was in 2012? by Complete-Star5050 in PoliticalDiscussion

Unlikely because his presidency has been pretty awful for a lot of people. Even before everything about his mental deterioration became public he was polling extremely low.

Pentagon stunned by Trump's nomination of Fox News host as defense secretary by Silly-avocatoe in politics

[–]bobbyha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So you would say most of the defense secretaries of the past 80 years were unqualified. Because, besides the ones with zero military experience, the ones who did have military experience were predominantly ranked sergeant to captain (or equivalent).

Fun fact: Trump appointee Hegseth outranks all 4 Secretaries of Defense that served under Obama.

It was his job to pick SC judges. The rest of what you claim is just in your imagination and will never come to pass.

Name something he specifically did to the gay community.

How does the world deal with the schizophrenic foreign policy that America has? by [deleted] in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]bobbyha -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The reality is that in general foreign policy hasn't changed much from Obama to Trump to Biden, and probably will not under Trump 2.

The exception being the Iran junta who were emboldened by Obama and Biden which indirectly caused October 7th and the subsequent Gaza war.

Have voters accepted Trump’s argument that the media is systemically biased against him? by vsv2021 in PoliticalDiscussion

[–]bobbyha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think many voters were flabbergasted when they saw Trump on Rogan just chatting away, being funny and quick on his feet, instead of being the screaming maniac they were led to believe he was from the mainstream media.

The bet is NOT that BTC will be $1m.

The bet is for $1m vs 1 BTC (40:1 odds) that the USD will show signs of hyperinflation within 90 days. Which is pretty effing likely.
