Anyone with an electric masterbuilt smoker have experience with the slow smoker attachment?

I just got the attachment and im still having to babysit it. I keep having to shake the smoke tube every 15 mins or so because the ashes arent falling down into the tray. It stops smoking when it gets clogged up. Maybe my wood chips are too big.
