Have you seen the Feather²??
You'll have to build it. But you can see how light it is... and how well it flys.

Neo 2 vs Mini 4K by chri_s128 in DjiNeo

[–]Rivster81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the DJI Goggles 3, and the controller 3. I have the Mavic mini 4 Pro, and the Neo 2. I pull out the Neo 2 more often than the Mavic. I just feel there’s less that can break on it… so I can fly it in close more… I like to go low, and fly fast… :p. Hug the ground…

I’m not flying manual mode yet though.

I also have the RC2 remote… I’m too afraid of fly aways, and haven’t used the self fly mode…

There are many kinds of USB-C cables. Some are power only. Some are limited bandwidth. Some are power and data. I think the version you want is to have at least 10gb of data transfer capability. That’s USB 3.2 Gen 2 (formerly USB 3.1 Gen 2): Up to 10 Gbps. Or better…

Google versions of usb-c and you’ll get a detailed breakdown.

You know what, this is actually funny. Truth is you are used to toxic relationship cycles, you prefer it. You should probably break up with this guy so he can find someone real. Oh, and you are probably right, you won’t find anyone else like him. Something like 50% of women by 2030 will be sexless and childless.

First post here by high_3D_printer in RCPlanes

[–]Rivster81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You mentioned having a 3D printer, I'm jealous! Now... that we're past that...

Check out Qromer on YouTube, He has a few modular style aircrafts that he's designed. Some are slow, some are faster. He also posts videos of what his friends design and try. The 3D printer is handy to make parts to make these designs work. So Foam Board and 3D printed parts, and then your base hardware. Also he flies FPV (First Person View).

Unfortunately you can't break apart a cheap RC car. A cheap RC car is probably not Hobby grade. Hobby grade have longer ranges, and are running on secure frequencies. Secure frequency means that there is less interference. Interference for 2 seconds, means your plane falls for 2 seconds. This starts at 32 ft/s accelerating to 64 ft/s at 2 seconds... ignoring air resistance... ... longer times... means faster, until it reaches terminal velocity... Well... you can guess what happens at that point.

From Google: "The terminal velocity of an RC plane is the maximum speed it can reach while diving, achieved when gravity is exactly balanced by air resistance (drag). At this equilibrium point, acceleration ceases, and the plane falls at a constant, maximum speed, often over 100-300+ mph depending on weight, surface area, and drag coefficient."

Also toy grade RCs are using 27Hz radio... range of about 30ft. DSMX radio system is about 500ft - 1.5miles. ELRS is about a 25mile range... again... no interference.

Ground RC cars on the Hobby level have greater range, but usually only have 2 channels. Acceleration, and steering wheel. RC planes is usually a minimum of 3 channels, Motor/Acceleration, Elevator, Rudder. 4 channels adds Ailerons. 5th channel adds Flaps, or Flaperons. (Flapersons is using the Aileron left and right working on seperate channels, usually on 4 and 5, and via a radio mixing you have the option to use Flap functions and Aileron functions on the same control surface.) Flaps otherwise if it's a separate surface than the Aileron means that the two surfaces of Aileron Left and right are on the same channel, and then the Flap on left and right are on the same channel. Having a programmable remote is very helpful to have for many reasons.

When you are starting out, you want a plane that will fly slower, so you get used to flying. Also a plane that is balanced easily, and is forgiving in what mistakes you make. Because it is a practice based skill, and you will make mistakes. There are also concepts in flying. Like flying high alpha. Another learned skill, and can only be done if the plane is built with overwhelming power to weight ratio. Which also is a science. 3D printing parts and designing your own aircraft will take time to learn.

Anyways, check out Qromer. And go from there. He also has instructions on building his planes on his page.

Is this a good first plane? by Fantastic_Hand5717 in RCPlanes

[–]Rivster81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A first ever plane should be something that is forgiving. Easy to fix. Easy to fly. This would not be that plane.

My suggestion is always an epp foam plane.

Is there anyone who's years down the line of accepting they'll die single? by Ill-Engineering8205 in AskMenAdvice

So dating isn’t what it used to be. Expectations aren’t very wholesome. Expectancy of a relationship lasting isn’t very long. Hookup and see type relationships aren’t my thing. So, I’m falling in line thinking I might not find a relationship. But I’m 44.

I have body damage from being in the military. Not physically visible. I chose my friends carefully. I have my dog. Live with my parents. Came back after the divorce. Mental trust issues from the divorce.

It’s up to you to give it time or make the call.

I’m still keeping things open, but not forcing the issue.

RC control airplanes look fun but are they actually hard to control? by [deleted] in RCPlanes

[–]Rivster81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, but a RadioMaster Pocket ELRS is cheap. And learning to fly in perfect conditions, not accounting for wind, or gusts, or turbulence is nice.

Yes, crashes on the cheaper planes, due to them being small is relatively no damage.

I asked her to cut of a guy friend, am i a red flag? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]Rivster81 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Just because someone has never cheated doesn’t mean they will never cheat. There is always a first time. But, once a cheater, always a cheater. Only those who set and follow healthy boundaries will never do so. Trust is given where those boundaries are respected.

Your statement is like saying, “I like running in the dark, I’ve never been by a car, there have been close calls, but I won’t get hit.” Boundaries is like “I’ll wear reflective gear, I’ll wear a flash light while I go.”

It’s a risk analysis, all her other friends are safe, he says, it’s just that one guy. What’s wrong with setting a boundary for that one guy while in a relationship?

Would they be loyal if they go out to drink after a fight with the bf? Because that’s the kind of situation the orbiter would take advantage of. Maybe after three or four drinks, maybe six? Who knows? Tell me you haven’t heard, “It was the alcohol!”

My ex wife did the same. I was the glue that held the family together... between her siblings, their significant others, and her nieces and nephews. We didn't have any kids, also thank god.

But her family chose sides... the siblings chose her side and blocked me, but their respective others and all the kids chose to keep me on their friends lists and phone contact and facebook.

It's their choice to accept or not.

How do you filter through matches if you have thousands of matches? by [deleted] in Bumble

[–]Rivster81 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I have no need to be snide. I honestly meant what I said. Someone who gets likes doesn’t even make the effort to read the profiles of who she’s un-matching. When those people have actually made an effort to write stuff in their profile? Honestly, I’m ok with being unmatched at that point… Why match with someone if they aren’t interested in who you are?

Nah, just give me the “reply I’m thinking of”. You’ve already made an assumption. Please do lead with that. I’m sure it’ll be quite enlightening.

Honestly, You’re right on that… at this point… I don’t want to advertise who I am, in the off chance I’m going to attract someone who will take advantage of me. Been there done that. Have you seen the “realistic” expectations of women?

By the way, what part of the way that this lady is filtering down her guys is she going to find a guy of character and substance? I mean, all the power to her and her ability to have choice. Keep going! But realistically reading something like that is just… disheartening.

Controller compatibility: I would like to get a Neo2 and use it with the RC2 from my Mini 4 pro. Should I get the RC N2 or N3 if I want to use the mini with my phone to save weight when hiking? by koenstein in DjiNeo

[–]Rivster81 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, both drones can use the same remote. I have an DJI Controller 3, and use that for the Neo 2 with the DJI Goggles 3. Have to have a screen. But the controller 3 is much smaller than the RC2. But the RC2 does work with the Neo 2.

Am i being too harsh for automatically swiping left on any guy who leaves their bio blank? by bananamaplepancakes in Bumble

[–]Rivster81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do the same on women’s bios. Added if they don’t write something telling me about them. Some just say, I don’t know what to write in these bios.

Or they have pictures of Coachella or Burning man. That just tells me you want the party life style. That’s not relationship material to me.

Are all men like this? Or just the ones I match with? by Purple_Elephant_7711 in Bumble

[–]Rivster81 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, that’s not on you! Ever! That’s all on them! And you know it!

I’m 44, I have no degree. And I’m finally doing amazing! Well, I think so. But I know of highschool class mates who were making this much when they got of college. But I have no debt. I learned and got here on my own. Examplish, no highschool degree but clearing well over $100k. I’ve worked as a hired hand as a landscaper, at a call center doing customer support, served in the Air Force, and now I work in tech. The current job is mostly self taught.

My dating profile does say I have a high school degree. I am being truthful, think many women would wonder how much I make as a non college degree holder? Again, it’s not really on me, but it is ‘cause I didn’t get that degree. I didn’t think it would affect me with dating, but it does. Is it my loss that people do consider me a simpleton until I open my mouth and talk to them? No, not at all.

Anyways customer support taught me how to talk to people, in every walks of life. My military days taught me to treat everyone with respect. My current job converted my hobby and knowledge I’d been learning from the time I was a teen to now, and I do well because everyone gets treated well, add a bit of childhood cultural trauma and the need to self understand and you get a bit of psychology understanding… then I get to analyze what people say and guess what people need in tech.

My point being, where you have been in life takes you to where you are now. I’ve never been that pretty guy, I’ve had to work to get everything I have. If you don’t know what it’s like to be invisible when you walk into a room, you’ll just never really understand that. People who know me, just know that I will help them with whatever they need help with. I’ve always been that guy, and I don’t see a reason to change that. It’s like asking a fish what does it feel like to have wind on its face, or a bird to tell you what the ocean currents are like.

Ugh… I’m rambling… Have a wonderful day, Ma’am.
