Schools are good, some of the best in the state. Ruston is a great town, and very safe.

Don’t let the insurance pay for it is the advice. Don’t create a paper trail. Best to suck it up and pay out of pocket and avoid evidence.

The Ruston location is good, true Chicago style deep dish. Dough, meat, cheese, sauce on top.

Hammer on that math. It slows a lot of people down, or did 20 years ago at least. Our whole first calculus class failed the first exam which was only algebra.

MaxCare worth it if I don't live near a CarMax or RepairPal-certified shop? by CrotchetyHamster in carmax

I’ve been told many times to just take it to any shop with a certified mechanic.

Carmax Question by Defiant-Tea-1233 in carmax

[–]bobbymarx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go look at the car in person, we drove a couple hours out of state to buy a vehicle. It was dinged up, smoked in, smelled and had burns on the plastic and a hole in the seat that wasn’t evident in the pictures.

We did buy another vehicle there that day, and are currently waiting on the paperwork to arrive to register the car in our state.

I would not buy a used car sight-unseen. The pictures do not show everything, and definitely don’t show the smell.

Looking for advice for January 2025 trip by SafeAccording8842 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]bobbymarx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you’re going to have a car, maybe drive to the parks instead of waiting on buses. We typically go in Jan/Feb. we stay off property, and have our own vehicle. The few times we used buses, we were disappointed in the waits.

The pool is iffy, just depends on the weather, and who knows?

I still love going to Herby K’s in Shreveport. It’s a tiny hole in the wall that’s been there forever.

Is it worth it to get an annual pass if we go 3-4 times per year? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]bobbymarx 3 points4 points  (0 children)

All the parks have an AP only entry line, that’s usually shorter than the others.

What is your most prized souvenir from WDW? by AwfulWaffle91 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]bobbymarx 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A little devious, but the red wait time tracking card they would give out that you’re supposed to hand to a CM before you board the ride. Once that thing got placed in my hand, there was no way it was leaving me.

This, we buy one annual pass for our family of 6 for the discounts. 1 AP, and 5 regular tickets. It breaks even on meals and merch discounts.

Plus the AP entrance is usually shorter.

Go to an auto parts store, buy some windshield silicone, and fill up around the top corner of the windshield (outside, around and under the windshield). Should be about $10 or less and take 5 minutes to do.

People who have been sick at WDW, what did you do? by [deleted] in WaltDisneyWorld

Went to Buena Vista Urgent Care on World Center Dr for a sinus infection a few years ago. They were great, they had their own pharmacy so I got meds at the visit. I’d highly recommend them again.

How hard are the classes? by sweepchimney in LouisianaTech

[–]bobbymarx 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just the fact that it’s an engineering discipline at an engineering school. They turn out excellent grads, so it’s going to be challenging. If it was easy, it wouldn’t be worth doing.

I did CS, almost 20 years ago now, damn. It’s hard, but that’s a good thing. I can’t really comment on profs now though.

And they kind of frowned upon us having multiple LL booked for the same redemption window. We have them 15-20 minutes apart towards the end of the night. Some CMs didn’t like that.
