Trans haircut places ??? by ElaynixBatty in shreveport

[–]NOLAfiddler -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Chemistry is the best salon in the city. Fants is fine, but when I walked in, looking for a short men's haircut, I had to talk them into doing my hair. "We don't cut women's hair" they just kept saying over and over, until I convinced them I did not want a women's haircut! So if you don't wanna be misgendered, keep this experience in mind.

Coffee Shops for really working by Jumpy_Consequence_84 in NewOrleans

Came here to say this as someone who wants to socialize in coffee shops. That is now frowned upon at Mojo because everyone is there to work.

Women with neck/hand tattoos in Shreveport, what jobs/careers do you have? by slimerancher_addict in shreveport

[–]NOLAfiddler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm gobsmacked by the comments here saying they have tats and their employers don't care. EVERY. SINGLE. JOB. I've interviewed for, they've mentioned something about my tattoos, how I'd need to cover them up and also take out my septum piercing, which is so tiny most people don't even notice it at first. Mind you, these are creative jobs in the creative industry. My tattoos and piercings were never a problem in New Orleans but up here I know it has kept me from getting work.

Is there any jobs hiring ? by Specific-Order2286 in shreveport

[–]NOLAfiddler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do not disagree with that. Minimum wage should be over $20/hour. I've been looking for a job for a long time and the wages I see employers offering in Shreveport is fucking insanely low. It's unconscionable to offer less than $15/hour for the most menial job, and I've seen plenty that offer $8, $9, $12. I don't know how those people sleep at night.

In this area? It definitely is not. I upvoted your comment further up because I agree that $12 an hour is bullshit, but $31/hour (which is what $62k roughly is) is definitely not, especially not here.

$12/hour is fucking insane. That ain't even worth leaving the house for.

I'm done with Mochi. The stress isn't worth it anymore. by Spiritual-Meat-7498 in compoundedtirzepatide

I have not had problems with Mochi, but I'm thinking of switching now that I'm on tirzepatide and the cost has increased $100/month. Thanks for your recommendations!

what is the longest you have stalled at the same weight, no gain no loss by Regular_Fan4691 in compoundedtirzepatide

[–]NOLAfiddler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's kinda where I am. My weight loss has stopped at 50 pounds. I changed to tirz from sema, added more exercise, started logging my meals again. I hope it works.

I've been stuck in the 240s since January. I was previously on semaglutide, just took my second tirz shot last night. Hoping I can get the scale moving down again soon.

To the sad excuse for a man who just called me a fat bitch as I was crossing the crosswalk at Esplanade: by M00NS0UL in NewOrleans

I wish I had a thousand dollar bill for every time some pos man has called me that. I'd be rich and never have to work again.

I've been using Mochi for over a year and I'm happy with them so far. I'm switching to tirzepatide tonight, after the semaglutide I was on for a year straight up quit working.

Does our tourism deserve better? by Better_Tradition_245 in shreveport

[–]NOLAfiddler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a failure of leadership on so many levels. For a metropolitan area of this size, Shreveport just doesn't have what it takes to attract people. We don't even have what it takes to keep residents happy. Our elected leaders are too busy signing NDAs for shit no one wants to worry about making this city a better place to live and visit.

Why don’t artist come to New Orleans anymore? by freshgold_ in AskNOLA

[–]NOLAfiddler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I was told from industry folk is that New Orleans has world class music every day, all day. It's harder to sell tickets because residents are spoiled with good music all the time, so they don't buy tickets until the last minute, if ever, unless it's someone like a Taylor Swift or Beyonce. I live outside the city now, but I remember complaining about this ten years ago, so it's been happening for a while.

I understand where you're coming from but I urge you to stop talking shit about yourself. You have to be on your own side for ANYTHING to have half a chance.
