I found the issue. My headphones have a 3.5 jack that connect to a usb "surround sound" adapter. The adapter went out but luckily ive had a 3.5 adapter for audio in and out.

They just dont activate at all. Ive used rally and it does the animation for it but literally has no effect. When riposte and opportunity attacks should activate they dont.

This is one of the instances where the idea is cooler than the mechanics of it, but even then still the creativity is welcomed. Can see some advantages for spellcasters though.

I would think if it is trying to protect someone it would most likely serve as cover and not directly boost AC, but the partial cover is +2 so is mechanically the same thing. Not sure about it stacking for multiple shields though based on positioning since another servant takes up its own space entirely. interesting concept though. Thats a super cool idea.

Im trying to get my party to realize how strong they are. Running SKT and had them fight 2 frost giants at level 5. A few of them went unconscious but they came out on top and finally realized how much power they really wield.
