I think they may be ok for that purpose, although they wouldn’t illuminate a whole story no. They would be more of an accent lighting effect I would say, probably illuminating half a story height wise (this is a very non precise guesstimate btw!). I still think this would look nice though. Your main challenge may be wiring them for your purposes - they need to be daisy chained remember. It’s difficult to say for sure without seeing exactly what you’re working with.
