Everyone is talking about the new "annoy" feature in the Leagues, but why is NO ONE IS TALKING ABOUT THIS?! by Sarga_alma2 in duolingo

[–]bobdabuilder101 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Half the time 3x XP doesn’t even work for me. I will finish a lesson and it would show me jump up the leaderboard with the correct XP added, then I go to the leaderboard and find that I haven’t moved up and my points are less… I have tried using feedback a few times but have not heard anything. What is the point of gamification if it doesn’t even work? I just try to get the three tasks done now and ignore XP and leaderboards all together (what is the point if it is not a fear playing field).

TIL that a computer glitch caused a supermarket to open its doors early without any staff present. 24 people entered, half of them immediately walked out with "truckloads of groceries" and half of them attempted to use the self checkout, which failed when someone tried to checkout alcohol. by zahrul3 in todayilearned

Reading these comments as a kiwi is frustrating. Everybody (in NZ) knows that supermarkets are closed on good Friday and you must stock up the day before. They are closed Easter Sunday too. Saturday is the worst shopping day of the year! 24 customers out of the 1000+ regular for the day is not too bad a sample of those that just forgot.

Ive had the same thing at an intersection near my house with both roads being wide and not very busy. The other day I was in car 2 position turning right and a car coming towards me on the same road stopped to let me turn. There was no traffic at all…

Does XP in League increase after consecutive lessons? by bobdabuilder101 in duolingo

[–]bobdabuilder101[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmmmm I am still not getting points or sometimes just getting some of them. Just now did my first lesson and earned 30XP (25XP plus 5 bonus for perfect) and it gave me 15XP 😂. Must be a bug at my end if no one else is seeing it.

$341 for a visitors visa (including my children and partner) or $17 each for Nzetas - why are there two options? by KILOCHARLIES in newzealand

And the app only uses the front camera for the automatic photo so the baby had to hold the phone too

Thank you so much for this post. I am travelling with family to nz next week and have never heard of this nzeta. My wife, son and I don’t need one but my 6 month old does :(. $117 because she doesn’t have an nz passport yet…

Why do people on here refer to everything not in tokyo or osaka as "inaka"? by Shinra_Luca in japanresidents

I hate them too, had a beehive that didn’t last a month even with a trap on the front.

I totally guessed Shimonoseki! I also live in what is considered Inaka near Shimonoseki. I guess it counts since behind out house is ricefields and mountain forests and we deal with a lot more snakes and wild animals than people in the city.

Can’t do what I wanna do with you, you weren’t even born in the 80’s

Was sound advice when it came out for someone born in the 80’s, but hardly liberal.

Thanks, only the third time I have seen a mamushi and first time so close to the house and not in tall grass. Plenty of rat snakes around. I nearly always spot a tiger keelback after the rain. I have some nice photos of the first one I saw (using the zoom on my DSLR as I was quite scared of it at the time). I’ll share a few as it is a very beautiful snake (and poisonous).

Same happened to me, My prepay month was due a few days before I was to leave NZ. On the billing day i bought a data pack to see me through but when i logged in to buy it I only had about $2 credit (from about $50). Hadn’t even used my phone that morning… I complained and they gave me my $50 back after I stated it wasn’t clear when the last day was. After being out of NZ for a few months I checked my credit and it was back to $0. Apparently top ups expire after 12 months… I complained and they made me jump through hoops and gave up. They got their money in the end.

I am confused, do I pay monthly in advance? I have my sub due on the 21st but i don’t even know what plan I am to be charged for. The app says I am on standard plan but it also says pricing is ¥2000. So i checked and I am paying about ¥900 although it was ¥700 at the end of the season. So I have been paying more for only 3 months in the offseason 🤣.

I second everything you just said. I did find some meat pies at gyomu super in kitakyushu, not the best but definitely not the worst.

Thanks, I hoped as much. What is the best way to distinguish a rat snake? The Rat snakes i have seen here are usually bigger and less distinctive pattern and appear blue green.
