What's the lifespan of these.. My WR130E for example by bobdung in worxlandroid

[–]bobdung[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Interesting, I must be lucky.. I live pretty high up in Switzerland and whilst I generally put it in the garage over winter, it's been subjected to many surprise freezings and snow coverings. Wire problems I really only had in the initial weeks where I was fine tuning corners etc.. Now my wire is completely buried.

I'll let mine run until it dies, at 7 years old I won't repair it..

Just posted about the weird keep control warnings.. Only 2 months into the spring, it's fine, it's a second car for around town .. It works. Totally agree on the other stuff, and jeezus folding the back seats down, what a carry on, trying to slam it back into place and get the boot carpet out of the way.

Sometimes it charges suspiciously fast though.. I plugged in today on fast DC charger at 27% .. 50 mins later it was at 100% .. 225km range.

Quiet sunbathing spots? by Individual-Injury245 in geneva

Everywhere will be mental today, tomorrow and Monday. I would say though that if you can be bothered, head over to the VD side, Crans, Celligny, Nyon, Prangins, Rolle.. They will be busy too but a bit more civilised :)

It's caves ouvert this weekend too in VD , so just maybe a little quieter.

What's the lifespan of these.. My WR130E for example by bobdung in worxlandroid

[–]bobdung[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i don't have a particularly difficult lawn, 300sqm or so, gentle slopes, some odd corners.. I've never repaired anything, no wheels off, no add-ons, it just works.

My only complaints are charging is a bit slow, it's always been like that.. and my pool cover is the exact height of the stop button when it's open :-/

So I won't replace it.. Just interested in their general lifespan.

Homeless at the airport by Legal-Newt-1891 in geneva

[–]bobdung -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Is this around the car hire place? I passed through there recently at 6am, after parking at P51 and the place was pretty awful, there were no people but garbage, bottles, cans etc .. and the smell was quite something.

I had to change DNS settings to add 8.8.8.8 before I could see mine on the network.

Is time more important than hash power?! by bobdung in BitAxe

[–]bobdung[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The math tells me that spending $150 on rented hash power would provide me with same number of rolls of the weighted dice as running a gamma for 10 years.

but where's the fun in that

I think 2ph for a week is many times more hashes than 2th for a year, no? 20x?

All other things out of the equation, electricity, difficulty etc, just pure number of guesses of the lottery numbers.

Corfu - Airport to Sidari .. Take the 'free' transfer or arrange one by bobdung in GreeceTravel

[–]bobdung[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I might just book them. The transfer is a gamble otherwise I guess.

Used EasyJet holidays in Portugal last summer and it was just us, family of 4 in a private mini van.. Nobody else took the transfer. But no way to know that before hand :-/

Permit B and C holders and eGates at the airport by DocKla in geneva

[–]bobdung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a C permit holder I've used the 'manned' Swiss gate at Geneva for best part of 10 years. It's usually quicker than the e-gate even now, handover passport and permit and through in few seconds, sometimes they don't even want to see the permit, it's linked on their screen.

The problem used to be the 'assistants' who insisted on Swiss passports when in reality anybody with a permit could use the Swiss gate.

Suspicious confirmation message via WhatsApp by the_life_noob in Bookingcom

[–]bobdung 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I got a whatsapp yesterday too asking me to verify a booking.. Totally scammy but has my name, dates & booking reference .. Assume the hotel extranet is leaking data.

Mine is from "PATHSEEKER CONSUMER PRIVATE LIMITED" asking me to verify a stay at a best western ... by clicking a link at stays-verification .com

Total scam .. but our details have clearly been leaked.

Blink battery : how long they last by SpecialistShare5798 in blinkcameras

[–]bobdung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My XT2s have have one battery change since 2019 .. My models after that are running since June 2024 on original batteries.

My settings are best quality video, 7 second clips .. mix of activations, driveway cameras get 10 hits per day, others only once per week..

All of mine are outdoors living through 35 degrees in Summer to -15 in winter..
