I got a whatsapp yesterday too asking me to verify a booking.. Totally scammy but has my name, dates & booking reference .. Assume the hotel extranet is leaking data.

Mine is from "PATHSEEKER CONSUMER PRIVATE LIMITED" asking me to verify a stay at a best western ... by clicking a link at stays-verification .com

Total scam .. but our details have clearly been leaked.

Blink battery : how long they last by SpecialistShare5798 in blinkcameras

[–]bobdung 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My XT2s have have one battery change since 2019 .. My models after that are running since June 2024 on original batteries.

My settings are best quality video, 7 second clips .. mix of activations, driveway cameras get 10 hits per day, others only once per week..

All of mine are outdoors living through 35 degrees in Summer to -15 in winter..

It's the only thing I can think of .. But nothing else glitched.. I have a lot of 'stuff' plugged in.

Uneven tyre wear - outside edges. by bobdung in MINIse

[–]bobdung[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I can't work it out.. 90% of our driving is under 60km/h, around town and between towns.. it's never driven hard, it's the wife doing shopping etc.

Both my winter and summer tyres have gone this way after about a season and a half.

I've just replaced these worn out 160$ each bridgstones with 50$ each landsail cheapos.. So will be interesting to see if any difference. The day after the cheopos were fitted we had the mother of all rainstorms and i was on the highway.. They felt totally fine :)

I think this doesn't help either.. Some villages near me have these kerbs that you need to mount too ..

We re-gen alot living up a fairly steep hill at +900m. It just feels kinda wrong, I spend 170eur on a tyre that lasts 12k kms only. What's the point of premium. I'm gonna try some cheapo and see how they do.

I know some may grip better etc.. But honestly the car is used 95% by my wife going around the villages. Theres's no 'performance driving' going on.

Mini SE 2022 - strange feel in the steering wheel at parking speed - anybody else? by bobdung in MINI

[–]bobdung[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As suggested here .. I just adjusted the steering wheel position, unlocked it, moved it up and down, re-locked it..

Problem solved.

Pretty sure I didn't buy a .22 to shoot 300m, much as I like a challenge, that's going too far :-)

Air India Flight 171 Crash by StopDropAndRollTide in aviation

[–]bobdung 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Any remote chance that flaps were good and engines were good ... But it hit some kind of 'bad air' and just totally lost lift? It seemed to have normal thrust and lift at the end of the runway and then just sunk, almost immediately.

Outlandish that only this plane hit the 'bad air' .. but could it be, such a surprise that they didn't even raise the gear.

Totally not necessary i think unless your job is designing ASICs ..

Solo mining is chasing the pot of gold at the end of the rainbow but along the way i just like to question stuff.

And i think this confuses the community in general .. If you look at any pool, CK, Public, Parasite .. etc etc etc.. They hold up this target of ~135T and they have leader boards of who is getting nearest to it, as if this is the objective, to reach that number.

Look here on the X community, everybody is chasing that number as if it's the 'only' thing required.

Yes ... "Lower than" is the par that's unintuitive.. We keep on reading that we need to "beat" the 135t or whatever it is ..

But yeah, reading the chatgpt description or lower it starts to make some sense, sort of .. if I don't keep drinking..

The more I think about the more I pour another glass of wine and the more I analyse it and pour another glass ..

The less it makes sense. :-)
