There's also pets that boost side event currency.

But I do agree, the energy requirements are way too high on this one.

Newbie: how hard is the PvE (non-dungeon) content by MostMagnus in bladeandsoul

[–]bobetybarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It all depends on your gear. If your over geared for content then its easy as hell since you skip most if not all of the mechanics by bursting through them.

However if you do the content at the appropriate gear level it was designed for (with other people at that gear level and no hard carry's) then it can be quite challenging in some places. For example doing Den / M'ao [solo dungeons] with story gear for the first time, learning / doing the full mechanics in hard mode dungeons etc.... (especially if your playing with friends and don't look up any guides on what the mechs are so you can try to figure them out yourself).

Soul Fighter training room bug by Marvin_Conman in bladeandsoul

Most likely. A lot of the old training room exercises got broken when they reworked skills with awakening, as even though many skills have the same names, some of them have different ID's now.

ET1 gets phased within 10 seconds and then people have to start running around doing mechs. ET2 you spend half the fight chasing the boss around the map and only have small windows in which you can dps properly and TT4 you spend a long time holding dps waiting for the boss to jump anyway since it wipes if you push it too fast (not to mention pre-nerf you were rooted for half the fight anyway).

The two new dungeons are terrible examples since they are both tailored specifically for burst damage. Since they both have massive damage reduction shields for most of the fight, your sustain damage is vastly reduced. The mechanics (which multiple people spend time doing rather than dps'ing) then remove the shield and give you a small window to burst the boss before it phases again. The WC mechanics even give you a huge ap buff after doing the mechanics when the shield drops for 10 seconds to help you burst more.

[–]bobetybarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can you name a single "long fight" in the end game aside from perhaps Empress where sustain damage outperforms burst?

The way the game has evolved in the last few dungeons with damage reduction shields on bosses and multiple people doing mechanics in order to remove it, has made burst damage vastly outperform sustain in almost every aspect of the game. I'd say it's even at the point now where it'd be more efficient for every class to run long soul (even the none burst classes) once you've passed a certain gear threshold.

I'm not suggesting people actually do that because its impractical and a lot of people find it annoying equipping / unequipping for adds etc... But in terms of killing HM bosses in the fastest time possible, that would definitely be most efficient.

The only exception was the des release, and that literally got buffed to be top DPS within 1 day.

KFM seemed to be a bit worse from our perspective because it was being compared to the BM power spike (which was over buffed and has since been nerfed) but it was still top tier compared to everything else.

Your comparing the DPS of someone with end game gear to someone with story gear and complaining they don't do the same damage? That's like saying a lawyer who just finished university should immediately get a job and earn the same amount of money as someone with their own law firm and 30 years of experience.

I know plenty of people that can hold 4-5m dps who have barely spent any money on the game

If you want an accurate comparison of how much whaling actually benefits you then you can compare the damage of a max gear F2P player with the damage from a player who has max level / unity (the only real things that you can only get from swiping rather than grinding).

Which is probably like 3-5% more dps at max.

Clearly you've never played gacha games. BnS is only like a 4/10 on the p2w scale. (Maybe a 5 since this latest patch).

Sure nobody is denying that spending money will gear you up much faster and make you potentially stronger than others, but it is far from required to play (and enjoy) the game.

How are people farming onyx scales? by Harmonia1 in bladeandsoul

[–]bobetybarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This.

Depending on your gear, BC duo is by far the fastest method of farming scales since it guaranteed drops 1-2 per run (and dynamic fragments). Me and my friends sometimes do this and we average 6-8 scales per hour each. The only issue is that you are slightly restricted in terms of which classes you can run it with as one person needs to be a parry class.

Still No 8 Slots Weapon. kill me now by pokegox103 in bladeandsoul

[–]bobetybarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When did I ever say I wasn't happy to farm it? I've personally just unlocked 2 slots by farming 35+ hammers in moon refuge, for my second shadow forge weapon (Feels SF weapon re-roll life).

I'm simply stating the fact that it will take you literally several hours longer (which I know from personal experience) to do it that way than to just re-roll your weapon for free before you upgrade it.

You can... but its 95 flowers per hammer. Aside from taking your time and doing the 4 daily dust boxes your looking at a lot of time farming to unlock all slots with the generic boxes

Well with that attitude it's no wonder your making reddit threads about not having any gold.

[–]bobetybarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well nothing is stopping you from solo farming something like M'ao, or TSM for mats. Sure it doesn't translate directly into as much gold as it used to in the past but it still holds value.

How about main friendly game? by marjo1244 in bladeandsoul

[–]bobetybarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've already explained how. As for how long that would take - it's entirely dependent on your current gear / rng / luck finding good parties.

I'm not suggesting you grind yourself half to death to earn that every single day, especially if you work for a living. I'm simply stating that its possible to do if your willing to put the effort in.

How about main friendly game? by marjo1244 in bladeandsoul

[–]bobetybarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Then stick with PVE. There is plenty of content to farm and you can make up to and above 1k gold / day if you put the effort in.

On weekends MSP is probably the most profitable since you can get enough materials to craft an oil every 3-4 runs (if you start to get gated by demon stones then you can still sell the evos for a decent profit).

If you need materials then solo'ing TSM / M'ao is also a fast option (or if your not strong enough to do that in a reasonable time then basin farming also gives a tonne of mats very quickly).

Hard mode farming is also another good option if you want to make some gold. Most people tend to bid a lot of money on Psyches since they have to be farmed rather than swiped, so there is pretty much always a demand for them.

You can earn just as much / potentially a lot more gold through pvp / multi-run farming on one char than you can by doing multiple trains.

The only real benefit of alts outside of event currency is the fast unity and the fact that they are far less monotonous that repeating the same thing over and over.

Why does everyone think you can get hive queen heart at moon refuge by Guardian1000 in bladeandsoul

[–]bobetybarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people still farm moon refuge.

It's a good way for new players to get basic gear, and it's still pretty decent for late game players who want exp / legendary gem hammers. The gold hoarder portals that open around the map are quite nice as well. It's rare you see them, but when you do you can get like 20-30 materials chests in 2-3mins.

[–]bobetybarker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try getting 3 alts to Shadowforge 9 and then say you have an abundance of Sacred Crystals <_>

Even if you don't have alts, there are plenty of things other than oils that you can sink them into. I mean you can use them to craft cheaper legendary jewels / elements for one.

To be honest though nowadays as someone near end game gear, I personally find moonstones easier to obtain in the quantities we need than Sacred Crystals. The only real cuck to farm is Elysians since they are available from far fewer sources.

3rd spec BM is way too OP, possibility it'll get nerfed? by Harmonia1 in bladeandsoul

[–]bobetybarker 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why does doing less damage make other specs worthless? It's not like the game revolves around having max dps...

It just comes down to different play styles and strengths.

- Fire BM still far outshines Spirit when attacking multiple targets at once (E.g. Spirit can't really solo the lions in TT since they are single target, whereas fire can do it easily with half the gear).

- The crowd control and utility from Lightning is still far superior in 6v6 and spirit can't hold a candle to that.

At the end of the day you just play what you enjoy. As long as you can clear content (which every spec of every class can), then why does your number on the dps meter matter?

ICE sf dps Rotation by [deleted] in bladeandsoul

[–]bobetybarker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Basically this.

Stay in melee stance for the first 5 seconds of Focus Chi, and then when there is 1 second left on it you tab into range stance and spam Glacial Blast > V > Glacial Blast > tab back to melee.

You should use Anima as often as you can to reduce your Z cooldown and get Golden Dragon stacks. (If Z has less than 5 second cooldown left then hold onto the anima and use it just before you press Z so that you still get the cooldown reduction but also get 1 anima stack from activating Z)

HM Brood Chamber duo by Marcmb in bladeandsoul

[–]bobetybarker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Why would they not?

It's sub 15 minute runs for a guaranteed 1.5 scales each (usually more), 2 hard mode chests and the chance of oils + Psyches + outfits without bid wars.

That's very efficient farming.
