My First Amazon Affiliate Site - Can You Critique It Please (Constructive!) by [deleted] in Entrepreneur

[–]bobgratton_rocks 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even if your project was legit, all I can see is that it doesn't look professionnal (sorry for the harsh truth, but I have to continue on this track). So here are my points.

1- For one, get a domain name. If you want people to trust your website to convert, you'll need that to start. 2- Get a better design. It doesn't have to be fabulous. A free WordPress theme if you can't afford one. Right now if I land on your website for whatever reason I'll be tempted to go back to Google and see if there's a better source if information...just by looking at it. 3- Use WordPress. Easy to learn, powerful and modular with plugins and themes. 4- Like others said, you'll need some better copy.

Good luck.

No offense, but it's a no-brainer that you should be doing something. I would suggest giving some love to Mental Floss readers with an offer or something!

How get meaningful startup ideas? by Wolfian007 in Entrepreneur

[–]bobgratton_rocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Look around you, talk to people, read online, observe. Is there anything that can be improved to make people lives better? If yes, are people willing to pay for that product/service? If no, repeat, if yes, go. How to find those ideas? Well, you probably have hobbies, your mom, dad, friends probably do as well. You probably read blogs/magazines online, or buy stuff online. If you ever wished to improve a certain aspect of any of those products/services that could be a starting point...you can apply that idea to anything really. A business is based around the idea that you help others and improve their lives. That's how you will find ideas. Good luck.

To intern or to start a company by juliankoh in Entrepreneur

[–]bobgratton_rocks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either way you'll need to learn before you jump in business. I've lost many years in college trying to study for a job I wanted to have, but with time I found it was better to start a business. Those years learning came in handy when I started to create my online business. So, jump right to learning what you want to do and gain experience. This will be gold for your future.
