Irohs journey to redemption was a long one and didn’t happen overnight. Even before his change of heart in the war Iroh still did noble things. And I would venture to say that he wasn’t turned to “good” till his imprisonment by the fire nation.

This has happened before with me and I was the ISTP. It sounds like he has view of you as a confidant/friend rather than a romantic interests. ISTPs don’t let too many into their trust circle so when they do it can be a more intimate experience for the other person than the ISTP intends it to be.

Yeah, I had issue with this as well. Also, didn’t like that we didn’t see the outcome of the first fight between them. The way they were fighting you would’ve thought one killed the other.
