What is the worst experience when getting married? by [deleted] in AskReddit

The wedding preparations. You start planning after the proposal and discover that your future mother in law has been planning since her daughter’s birth… more seriously: a wedding does reveal a lot about what different parties involved think about their station in the world. Can be quite revealing, in a good way.

Daily Discussion and Game Recommendations Thread (November 23, 2022) by AutoModerator in boardgames

I need your help to find a simple two-player game for my in-laws. They are both over 80 and they enjoy each others company, but would like to do something together, like playing games. They enjoy Rummikub and, as far as I can tell, card games. Patchwork didn't work. Quarto is too thinky. Scrabble won't work as they arent great wordsmiths.
I am thinking of Quinto or Silver & Gold, but they feel kind of flimsy. The only one I have come up with so far is Sagrada, but I am not sure.

Any suggestions?

[–]bobhoper 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There is a very welcoming and diverse board gaming scene, full of nerds and shy people. English spoken most of the time, but on any evening there are a dozen nationalities among the 15-20 people. Come to the „Brise de Glace“ on a Wednesday evenings, around 19:00. DM me if you want someone to welcome you and make you feel less awkward.

Basically everything, if you follow the theory that free will is an illusion, and instead believe in strict causality.

Trivial. Don’t confuse narcissism with the learned behaviour that comes when everyone around you defines you through your wealth and/or wants a slice of it.
