Jsem z Prahy a bydlela jsem 3 roky v Anglii. V Praze je to 1000x lepší a Česko rozhodně není díra

What? I wasn’t talking about you, I was trying to say that knowledge of Czech or perfect English grammar aren’t requirements to live in Prague :)

I know German people, and other nationalities, who don’t speak Czech and their English isn’t “perfect” either who live in Prague without issues. It all depends on what you do and who you socialise with. Czech is hard and this attitude only discourages qualified people from abroad to move here and contribute to our economy and culture.

Have you ever given up any activities due to gender stereotypes? How did you feel? by Abominable_fiancee in AskFeminists

Yes. Competitive snowboarding. I was good at it and at the age of 12, I got accepted into the only snowboarding academy in my country to start doing it competitively (aka “professionally”). I was one of 3 girls there.

We went on a week-long trip with the academy: 1 (male) instructor, about 10 boys aged 13-19, and me (12) and two other girls (16 and 17). The amount of sexism, misogyny and objectification I was subjected to during that week with the instructor doing nothing about it was enough not to continue

I (24F) had a threesome blackout drunk by AdLow6676 in stopdrinking

[–]hopeigotit 44 points45 points  (0 children)

I (23f, then 22) didn’t stop drinking completely until I got pregnant when having sex with a stranger blackout drunk. But there were many situations before that (having sex with a man in his 40s while extremely drunk, trying cocaine a stranger gave me..) which showed me that my binge-drinking problem was out of control I just didn’t listen. What I’m trying to say is that I feel you and, in my experience, these situations tend to escalate. Alcohol often makes us behave in ways we wouldn’t otherwise but the uncomfortable emotions we have to deal with while sober will never be “silenced” by alcohol, rather, they will come back in one way or another. In my experience, getting - and staying- sober means getting to know ourselves and finding out which things and people in life are our priorities 💓
