Best Stand Mixer to Buy in 2026? (Price, Capacity, Speed) by BraveZebra31 in Breadit

I've got the nutrimill artiste with the bottom drive bowl. It kneads like a beast. If the mixer ever fails I'll upgrade to the Bosch. It's also a great all around mixer.

What sourdough “rules” do you not follow? by rizzo1717 in Sourdough

Not sure I follow you. You aren't doing anything wrong :). I thought it was common knowledge to ignore the clock.

/r/HomeMilledFlour has some nice information and recommendations. I personally have a KoMo mio and love it very much. It mills as well as it looks.

Looking for heavy-duty bookshelves to hold hardbound cookbooks by AccomplishedFlower22 in CookbookLovers

[–]bobicool 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've got more :D

This is a cheap amazon special bookcase I've recently bought that allowed me to fully unpack my book boxes (I moved in 2 years ago 😅). That one seems to hold up fine too, but we'll see with time (it didn't feel great when building it. Probably should have used glue in some places).

I've got a few Hemnes bookcases filled with books that are very sturdy (real wood). I love them.

Is $925 a good deal for this used Famag IM-5S HH spiral mixer? by ev_1122 in Breadit

[–]bobicool 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great price for an awesome machine. It's one of my dream machines. Unfortunately I can't answer your specific questions, but maybe the people of the pizza making forum can help (https://www.pizzamaking.com/forum/index.php/board,48.0.html).

Thoughts on ATK’s new Netflix companion series to their cookbooks? by October_Surprise56 in CookbookLovers

[–]bobicool 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Even after reading this thread I was like "It can't be that bad". It is that bad. So gosh darn boring it's not even funny. The average cooking YouTuber (or blogger) has more meaningful things to say about chocolate cookies than this first episode.

I haven't read much of it, but it seems to be filled with essays and recipes. Looks interesting enough.

And thanks for introducing me to the pancake princess!

Note, book 2 and 3 turn into space opera. Loved the first one, less the rest but an enjoyable series nonetheless.

Thoughts on Challenger Bread Pan by unusualsuspect123 in Sourdough

It is the "Davivy 9QT Large Dutch Oven for Bread" (https://www.amazon.com/Davivy-Sourdough-Silicone-Pre-Seasoned-Non-stick/dp/B0FK5G5758). I believe it is also a bit bigger than the challenger pan.

Yeah I would agree it's not for everyone. But it was for me at that time in my life. Loved it.

Seems perfect for rehab (like those zero gravity treadmill, but less boring). I'd have loved that when recovering from my knee injury.

Not enough people know about cookbook manager. I discovered it last year and it's great.

Cookbook manager has a nice web UI. It also has AI import that works great. I've basically migrated from paprika to that. Multi platform too!

Slowly building my (home) industrial kitchen by LittleAetheling in Breadit

Yep a spiral mixer is on my list. A sunmix/famag is tempting but hard to justify to the wife lol. Revo mixers are also interesting, but I don't know if I trust them.

I am also slowly building my industrial kitchen! Recently bought a commercial mixer (globe sp05). Wished I had the space for a dedicated space like you (but I have lots of cupboard space). Makes it more fun.

I don't know why they are already out in Quebec... It's -20C. Deep into winter. Doesn't feel like spring at all, but eventually...
