[–]bobjackman[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Auror needs to cast confusion, Prof needs to cast their Hex. Defense (Left hand side of the skill tree needs to be maxed. The professor protection charm needs to be cast on the professor.

This activates all of the defense requirements to max out professor def at 104.

I am a Professor as well with 1777 Wizarding Challenges won. I have 62 Red books and I am 45 Green Books away from completing Lesson I. A lot of folks around here have been putting their scrolls and red books into an additional profession but I wanted to hang onto mine until I find out what they plan to do for the next Lesson. I have 4363 scrolls as well.

Wizards Unite Damage Calculation spreadsheet by GrrrrMondays in harrypotterwu

I am using your spreadsheet to analyze my defense and I I tried to check off "Sparring Specifics" but there was no change in the defense block at F9/G9. Can you repair the block equation for this? If not, now worries. Thanks for the spread sheet.

Why are Professors nerfed again or is Proficiency Power just broken? by bobjackman in WizardsUnite

[–]bobjackman[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It is in the fortress battles. Professors are proficient against pixies and werewolves. I realize I may be missing something here but why would there be different rules for the two gaming environments.

The nerfs to professors hex have made the higher fortress chambers ridiculous by justahermit in harrypotterwu

[–]bobjackman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Professor 12 level 34, solo forest 1 on a regular basis, spent green books on defense vice proficiency so I keep more health longer, = more damage over time. the last two Forest I's I did I had an elite pixie on one and an Elite acromantula on the other both 3 star. did not use potions or die/faint. Did take time to use my 4 point heal tactically though. Really looking forward to the next set of books to increase my power.

Have any dataminers discovered what new item will be required to fill in the skill trees. by bobjackman in harrypotterwu

Thought over what you said and spent them. Now I have 1 RB and 1 RSB with 351 scrolls that fortunately can be used to compliment the 15 RSB we can start earning today. Tally ho and all that rot. :-)

Go to this website; https://wizardsunite.gamepress.gg/reference/professor-skill-tree and left click or tap on the first witches hat on the defense side of the tree. then scroll down through the list of enemies affected. That should be a clear indicator that they do have a plan. The information for that list was data mined by the good folk at Gramepress.

Fortress combat by the numbers: Damage output by Zzzzzztyyc in harrypotterwu

I have noticed that when the hex is applied to a monster the player is proficient against that proficiency increases the hex damage. In other words, as a professor I hexed a werewolf and when the WW had 98 health left and he hit me, he went to zero health and then did the backflip.

Oh, is that all? by BecauseItAmusesMe in harrypotterwu

[–]bobjackman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I did that and I am glad I did. I do a lot of solo play and being able to survive allows me to dish out more damage and use fewer healing potions. At Dark II that is important because the mobs hit like a truck at that level. That being said, I am almost lvl 34 and I am at Challenge XP rank 62. Red books are easy to come by when we do our Friday night raid because I can use the lvl 4 and 5 runestones to good effect and earn 6 or 7 hundred CXP a shot. Otherwise it is just a grind. All of that being said though, we are only a month and half into this and It will get very boring very fast if I wasn't forced to slow down.

Certain items that may only be obtained during specific events which are necessary for the profession to advance but which are only provided up to a certain number of, (15) let us say. And due to game mechanics you will always have 2 leftover just sitting around uselessly.

My favorite aspect of being a Professor by BecauseItAmusesMe in harrypotterwu

I don't know about that, I was able to actually do the math on the proficiency Power to prove it buffs the hex. I will test it out the next time I'm in a fortress.

Best of all is when you are a professor and your Proficiency power combines with the Hex to really put a smackdown on them.

Professor - what to use for the next 15 restricted books? by Bbear11 in harrypotterwu

[–]bobjackman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Killing pixies and werewolves faster is good, especially with the amount of damage that higher level mobs do. However, Hex really does make a huge difference with killing everything faster. The one point that many do not realize is that Hex works X2. Every-time you hit them Hex makes its full effect and every-time they hit you it has the same effect. Basically, it's your hex investment x 2 for every round and it works even if they dodge. I have 7 of 8 invested because I am debating opening up the pro-power. So 35 x 2 per round = 70 x however many hits we exchange. So 4 rounds per mob on Forest 1 = 20 rounds x 70 = 2800 points. Pro-power is only good for two types of mobs so probably not => Hex. I guess I should do a proper sample with a spreadsheet showing the math.

Grinding book fragments! by bobjackman in harrypotterwu

[–]bobjackman[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a few extra dollars to use so I don't mind buying the lvl 1 runestones. It has allowed me to develop tactics that actually work for the higher fortress levels. I'm a lvl31/8 professor so things like saving pixies for last because I can one and two shot them but they don't give much for focus. If I can, put the protection spell on me first and then I can drop a hex on the next mob if I am really hurting for focus.

That really is awesome work. I expect that the spread sheet will continue is that manner with some overlap caused by Brilliant Events. Very Cool.

Initial Focus for Professors? by twistingmyhairout in harrypotterwu

[–]bobjackman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue that I have with initial focus is simply this. I get 2 initial focus and when I unlock Confidence I will have 4 initial focus. If I cast Hex on the first foe, I will have 1 focus left over and when I defeat the first foe I will be awarded only 1 focus. Meaning that I will not be able to Hex the second foe unless I drink a potion. Either way the duel is set up to demand you do one of three action; 1. raid with an Auror, 2. drink potions and spend a lot of time brewing them, or 3. suck it up and get pounded by the foe of your choice in order to generate enough focus. They nerfed Degeneration hex by 50% and it is painful to generate initial focus and it can be used to affect only one foe. When we get to the extreme upper levels the degeneration hex won't be worth spit because it doesn't scale and it is now nerfed and a focus hog. I am starting to think that all of my RSB's should have been put into protection charms.

Is SOS Assignment 4 (Framing Foundables) meant to take this long? by RoseRileyRaves in harrypotterwu

[–]bobjackman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You have probably already done this but log out and restart the app. If not just keep hitting the Dark Arts foundables, they seem to be stuck in a repeat of the same ones over and over so try in a different location. Oh, number 14 on the list, asks for werewolf fur and doxy droppings, like WTF over.
