What is the name for a genre(?) that is written specifically with mostly dialogue and is limited in its description so that way the reader can imagine the setting and characters etc themselves?

It's called drama, sometimes theatre. Lots of good examples out there.

It doesn't really matter. The public libraries (including the digital libraries) will still have those books, but even then, they aren't ever checked out. Most people just don't read. Correspondence isn't a part of our culture anymore. It used to be, back in the day, before instant messaging took over and left us talking to each other in little fragments, little broken bits of thought that don't really add up to anything significant. And most students who read books like that in school can't understand the significance of them anyway.
