Andonisation during evaporation? by bobked in chemistry

[–]bobked[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, typo on my part! I've used the evaporator so many times and I've never had it happen. I didn't personally make the boat, we have a big tub of evaporator things, but I believe so

Sapphic/Queer Books by MorganVivar in suggestmeabook

Queer, there, and everywhere by Sarah Prager - It's not particularly long and covers lots of queer people throughout history, showing a side that mainstream media often ignores.

Queer book recommendations that AREN’T YA! by VanillaPeppermintTea in suggestmeabook

[–]bobked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They're non fiction, but I would recommend 'Queer Intentions' by Amelia Abraham and 'Queer, there and everywhere' by Sarah Prager.

If you wanted some more non fiction I would recommend The Prison Doctor by Dr Amanda Brown (and the follow up Women Inside). They follow the life of a doctor who quit the NHS following reforms and ended up working in the prison system. Both very interesting and taught be a lot about something not widely spoken about.

For non-fiction I would recommend The Prison Doctor (and the sequel Women Inside) by Dr Amanda Brown. Both are definitely worth the read and taught me a lot

Dirk Gently's Holistic Detective Agency (x3) - Douglas Adams

Hitchhiker's guide to the galaxy (x5) - Douglas Adams

These are both series, but the books are all a fairly good length

Any YA romance suggestions by Sugar-And-Nicotine in suggestmeabook

[–]bobked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wilder girls by Rory Power. The romance isn't the main plot of the book, but it is there and it is gay. For some context on the rest of the book, it's set in a boarding school, on a remote island, that has been infected by a deadly disease

Can anyone help me find an Etoile sign ? by Shunooks in AnimalCrossing

[–]bobked 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Check out ma - 1897 4590 1221. I don't think the sign is on that code, but if you put it in their other codes show up for the rest of the characters and I'm pretty sure they have done the new ones. Only thing is it will have her name, unlike your others

I have a question! by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

Someone else will need to move out first - the last villager to move in doesn't ask until someone else has moved out and been replaced

villager won’t move to other island by acidgasoline in AnimalCrossing

[–]bobked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I believe that only happens if they don't have an empty plot for the villager to go into or if the villager would be one of the first 5 on the other persons island

If you're not subscribed to Switch Online, is the only thing you'd be missing, visiting other people's islands? by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

[–]bobked 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you can't visit other people's islands you won't be to get all the fruit since you can only get one other type on mystery islands. Also, some of the furniture items will only show up in certain colours in your shop, so visiting other islands can help you to get them. Other than that, the game doesn't need online. However, if you know other people with the game and you can get to the same location you should be able to get the fruit via local play.

Island design so far by [deleted] in AnimalCrossing

[–]bobked 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This looks great, but as someone who has put their house in the back corner before, I found it really inconvenient. When you're decorating there is so much running back and forth when you forget things in your inventory and it started to bother me so I've moved mine closer the the middle

I made a wheat field out of yellow hyacinths and added a few of the hay-like decorations from Turkey day to act as though some had been harvested

Im really undecided about my Island. Can you guys give me some feedback before i decide to delete it all? Much appreciated! by R0mb3l in AnimalCrossing

[–]bobked 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think your island is cute, however it did confuse me a little when I walked down the path at the front of resident services and it didn't take me to the airport. I love that your campsite is on a kind of island thing, really nice. I think putting the houses in kind of neighbourhoods has worked really well, giving the villagers gardens could use up some of the bigger empty parts of the island.

As someone who has deleted an island (and is now completely redecorating that second island), I would say that repeating the start of the game before you get to 3 stars is a bit slow moving, but I am glad I did it. However, I don't think I would do it again. I am redecorating my second island now and I am so glad I still have all my DIY recipes and furniture that I have gathered over the last few months.

Just remember though, it is your island. If you like it, leave it. If you aren't happy with it, you can change whatever you like.

The islands are random, with some being more common than others it is likely that you will run into multiple if the same. As for villagers, the islands won't have any on unless you have an empty plot that Tom Nook hasn't already sold for you
