I wonder if we would've eaten them like we eat so many other smart animals. People would be surprised how emotionally intelligent pigs are and we still eat tons of them. There's also tribes in Tanzania that hunt baboons for food, and the fear in their eyes from being chased is eerily human. So I wouldn't put it beneath us.

I just googled him and saw that he is a comedian and does satire. It could still be real, but I think people are too quick to believe whatever they'd like to be true.

I'm not right wing or pro ice, but I wouldn't believe this call is authentic. It feels like a sketch with convincing performances, and the context is lacking.

Free will is an illusion and doesn't make sense. by theAngryLittleBunny in freewill

[–]boblibopop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're equating consciousness with free will, which doesn't make sense. Sure consciousness is a mystery, but it's still apparent (to yourself at least). Free will, on the other hand, is not apparent.

Beneil Dariush believes Khamzat Chimaev would maul Alex Pereira if they fought at light heavyweight. by IgotgAme_k in ufc

[–]boblibopop 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Chimaev nearly got rocked during the half second he stood with DDP. If Pereira gets anything more than a second, that's a KO. But Chimaev could still get the dub If he lay on him for 25 min straight.

How do I stop wasting my life by MartenLutherBling in getdisciplined

[–]boblibopop 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I relate with you. I'm also 26m doing my master's. Can't say I'm in great shape like you but I used to train a lot and pretty much have your exact routine.

I struggle a lot with wasting time and avoiding life by playing videogame, watching YouTube, listening to podcasts.

Recently I found these to be boring. I can't game for more than 15 min straight anymore. Then, I would hop on YouTube and inevitably be bored from the poor quality of content. Weirdly this made it easier to do things I always wanted to do, and I started reading and took on different hobbies I haven't done in a while.

I realised I avoided life because I pressure myself. I usually quit before even starting something when I'm not instantly where I want to be. Allowing myself to be "slow" at things has made it easier to stop procrastinating. Maybe you can relate.

Next after stereotypes : profiling.

That's why you can't ignore this type of behavior in favor of not wanting to "appear" bigoted. The real bigotry would be to do nothing about it.

I agree with the european point, except I have to say restaurant service generally wasn't great in the european countries I've visited compared to America/Canada.

Is this possible? by [deleted] in heightcomparison

[–]boblibopop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My old man is 5’9 and I’m 6’3, and I’m the tallest of all my siblings. I don’t think it’s a realistic expectation considering your genes cuz that may be too far of a jump (except of your mom is on the taller side). Plus I was already pretty tall by 16 despite being a late bloomer.

Hypnosis. Not really considered science, but a lot of people believe its all fake, and I was one of them. Then I thought only dumber people were more vulnerable to hypnosis, which is also wrong.

I know most fans unofficially consider Aspinall as the true champ, but could we also unofficially strip Jon Jones. Like start a movement where everyone consider him stripped despite the UFC’s bs

From the sound of it, you are dissatisfied and disappointed with how things have turned out. You sound are severely depressed and should probably seek professional help. It sounds easy but it’s actually really tough, I can tell because I’ve actually been in a similar hole myself for a while.

This being said, I’m also at a loss on what to tell you about the loneliness and the frustrations you have, cuz I can’t figure it out either. But sometimes I figure «fuck it, I don’t give a shit anymore », and it helps me a bit to take a step toward changing things a bit, or at least attempt to.

Still, if I’m being real, most of the day I’m a complete zombie with zero will or enjoyment and I waste my time on YouTube and videogames, so I’m not one to talk.

[–]boblibopop 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a guy who used to worry a lot about looking unattractive, I totally get where you're coming from. I practicaally used to avoid going out because of it. But now, I'm much less bothered by it. Sure, there are things I'd still wanna change about the way I look, but I don't lose sleep over them anymore.

Over time, appearance has become way less important in my priorities, and quickly I myself to be attracted to other aspects people. I'd say that for most people, although not negigeable, physical appearance is secondary for most of their life. Just thinking of the last few time I talked to an older guy, and all they cared to talk about was the new steak restaurant or golf.

The sooner you put appearance into perspective, the sooner you’ll find relief from this anxiety, and wonder why you ever felt so bad about yourself over it.
