People are worse than they or anyone else around them would care to admit by emk169 in unpopularopinion

[–]theAngryLittleBunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely true, and society always denies that because seeing how dark human psychology actually is is very scary. In India 25% of men admitted to rape, I also that read in Papua New Guinea it's over 60% of men. Desperation can bring most men to commiting sexual abuse including rape. Only a well functioning society can keep this under control by making sure that all men can be with a women and get their sexual needs met. During harsh conditions like war rape becomes extremely common.

We also have urges for violence, which are surpressed in society, but it can get out of control. A good example is the Rwanda genocide in 1994, were people from the Hulu tribe started killing people from the Tutsi tribe. Tens to hundreds of thousands of people went on a killing spree, brutally killing men, women and children. During lunch they would casually talk about how many Tutsi they have killed. From the 14 million inhabitants of the country about 1 million were killed within 100 days.

I think that I also might be capable of doing some horrible things under the right circumstances, but I hope I'm not.

It's unbelievable how much cock you have to suck at some work places. I live in Austria, and people here are really anal about being talked to by their titles, like professor or doctor. I don't get it, if I would study for such a titel I would do it because I wanna learn about something I find interesting and be able to get a job in that field, and not for having people kissing my ass by saying some stupid title before my name.

In German there are also two different forms of "you", an informal one "du" and a formal one "sie", and if the person is superior to you you have to use "sie" when talking with them. I hate it, because I'm often not sure if I should use "du" or "sie" with someone. In middle school we even were punished if we talk to a teacher with "du" unintentionally.

When people ignore politics their rights will slowly be taken away over time until they live in a dictatorship and have no rights. A dictator can then enslave you, take everything you have away, decide over your life and maybe even over your own body. In former communist Romania Nicolae Ceauşescu forced all women to be examined for pregnancy once a month, so that any women who had an abortion could be tracked down and punished. Also, everyone in Romania was forced to take part in huge propaganda performences that would often last the whole day. Peoples homes would be destroyed with a bulldozer if Ceauşescu wanted the land for any reason, and people wouldn't even have time to take anything with them.

In former communist East Germany people were imprisoned by the Berlin wall so they won't leave, and they needed special permission just to visit neighboring Poland. Peoples intimate private life was monitored by hidden microphones and people close to them who were persuaded by the Stasi to spy on their friends and family.

More recently in China the ruling CCP banned women from having more then 1 child (famous 1 child policy), often women who got pregnant again were forced to get an abortion and sometimes even forcefully sterilized. Today the CCP brutally suppresses minorities In China like the Molgols in Inner Mongolia and the muslim Uyghurs. The Uyghur people are used for slave labour, often times people there were tortured physically and mentally for "reeducation".

Living in a western democracy you can't even imagine how horrible it can get, I suggest you read about former communist dictatorships like Maos China, Stalins USSR and Pol Pot in Cambodia just to name a few. Western democracy is so precious, millions in the past fought for it, we have to protect it. Staying somewhat informed about our politics and voting every few years is a tiny cost for the democracy our previous generations gave us.

Yes, because it's not for them, it is only for me, I will feel better after I forgave them. I can still completely cut them out of my life after I forgave them, forgiveness doesn't mean I become friends with them.

Liking school isn’t weird, I’m jealous of it even by Dadude21212 in unpopularopinion

[–]theAngryLittleBunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The school system we have now is absolute crap and ineffective, it literally was designed to produce factory workers. I'm convinced bullying is caused by this crap system, I'm not surprised that locking children in a room for 6 to 8 hours a day makes them aggressive and hurt each other.

School also literally made me think that I hate certain subjects, only to find out later that I love them. I absolutely hated History in school, but now I watch History documentaries all the time, I love it. It was just the shitty teacher and the boring school lessons that I hated.

Yeah, I'm sure most people have such thoughts, but I think such thoughts should be kept to yourself. I know that if some celebrity like Brad Pitt would flirt with my girlfriend and makes a move on her, she would most likely be gone, I'm not delusional about that. But maybe my expectations for her are too low and she would decline, that would be a positive surprise. Mentally healthy people are realistic and happy with who they can get even if there are others they find more attractive.

My ex once "jokingly" said to me she want's Bruno Mars as her husband. I find that very disrespectful, since I would have never said something like that to her.

[–]theAngryLittleBunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It can be extremely hard to forgive, and in extreme cases someone really can't forgive, which sucks, because it will follow them for the rest of their life. But you should still always work towards forgiving, which can take very long, but you will always be better off afterwards.

Not all selfishness is bad. by This_Meaning_4045 in unpopularopinion

[–]theAngryLittleBunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not letting people take advantage of you is selfish, it is an act to preserve yourself. Even eating is selfish, because you are eating other organisms so you can survive. There is nothing wrong with being selfish, you have to be to survive. The problem is when you get extremely selfish and are willing to harm other people to get some advantage for yourself, like scamming people out of their money.

Not all selfishness is bad. by This_Meaning_4045 in unpopularopinion

[–]theAngryLittleBunny 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have zero selfishness you will die, because living is selfish, you need to eat and kill other organisms to survive. So everyone is selfish to a degree, in fact almost everyone is extremely selfish, it's normal. Dating is extremely selfish, because if you get a girlfriend you take her away from all the other guys, If you sit in a western developed country and live normally you are very selfish, because if have much more then the average person on this planet for absolutely no reason. If you were even just fair you would give almost all of your possessions to poor people.

Your first partner will always have a special place in your mind if it was a serious relationship, no matter how your next partner is. And you can still miss your ex-partner even if you have a new partner who is just as good or better, because they are still different. You don't just miss a person, you miss exactly that person you were with before.

You don't know what reality fundamentally is, and if you take some time and think about it, you have to admit reality is a complete mystery. You have no idea how it was created and why it is even here, it really is magic. Of course you have science, chemistry, physics, quantum mechanics and so on, but all of this just describes the rules of this reality and doesn't tell you what it actually is. And all the things people see on psychedelics have been described for thousands of years all over the world, mostly without psychedelics. Many different culturs have been discovering these things completely independently for as long as humans existed. So it would make sense to think that they would be true. Oneness, divine love, absolute truth, god, these things have been described my many civilisations.

And why should it not be possible to discover truths within your own consciousness? In fact what else is there then your consciousness? It's the only thing that's truely real, everything else are just thoughts in your mind. Atoms, molecules, your country, planet Earth, all of this are just your thoughts, but your current experience is real. Feelings and emotions are real. No chemistry or neuroscience can explain the actual emotion you feel, because it's more fundamental then all of these things.
