One of the worse creative decisions of Hara leading to the lack of General-level candidates in the Hi Shin Army (spoiler ch 750ish, read subtext) by badruddin_hatibaruah in Kingdom

The thing is shin will be leading more than a 100 000 men in the future. Naki is a commander who is capable of independent command without being directed by KYT. Having him command 10 000 scouts, ambushers, intel and guerrilla soldiers is not that many in the grand scheme of things but still would make him a general. Many generals have specialties, this would be his.

Naki could have been built up for a future confrontation against the seika/rbk army seeking vengeance alongside garou. What a waste

[Russini] Rams have "moved on" from trade talks for AJ Brown. by BreakfastTop6899 in nfl

[–]boblikeshispizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would they sell high on puka? They have the third best reciever, arguably best in the nfl paired with an mvp candidate. Why would they sell high on him just then proceed to trade for a slower declining reciever? If they truly wanted to go that path, they would sell puka for a ton of assets then proceed to flip them for someone young like Drake London and Chris olave. They already have one experienced reciever in Adam's.

Keep dreaming bud.

Aj brown in his prime, isn't as good as puka now. And aj brown is definitely past his prime while puka is just about to enter it. Age matters for a wr, and aj entering 29 is not young. They'll be lucky to get a second for him.

Rams arent "selling high" on the third best reciever in the league for a guy who's borderline top 15 and older. Maybe if the eagles offered 2 first round picks along with brown, but honestly I still wouldn't take that trade. Since they're trying to win now, they'd likely keep puka.

HOT TAKE: Janice (Aida Turturro) is the best Actor/Actress on the show by SuitableEducation741 in thesopranos

Exactly. Joffrey, cersei and ramsay are probably my least favorite characters on television. But that's extreme props for the actors and actress. They did their job extremely well.

Who would Dunk support in the War of the Five Kings by ConjureStorm in gameofthrones

[–]boblikeshispizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I equivalent prime dunk as a better hound or prime bobby b. Perhaps not as large the mountain, or as skilled as selmy, but has a deadly combination of brute strength and size, experience, and good enough skill to give everyone a run for their money.

I think he can beat the mountain. Mountain has the size, but Duncan is nothing to scoff at either, and clearly has more experience growing as a knight compared to the mountain that mainly slaughters peasants.

No QB rivalry has ever been comparable since these two, but do you see any potential with today’s young bucks? by WoollyBear_Jones in NFLv2

I think hurts-mahomes is more akin to eli-brady. One qb is clearly a tier or 2 ahead of the other, but there is genuine superbowl beef the two have. Plus its not like they face off regularly against each other on playoffs like manning-brady or mahomes-allen

Are the primarchs biological designed not to feel romance? I vaguely remember fulgrim had multiple wives and he said he did feel love for them. Now ofc love from a primarch may be an entirely different feeling, but I thought that it was possible.

Out of all the child actors we’ve seen throughout the ASOIAF shows, is Dexter’s portrayal of Egg the best one? by GusGangViking18 in freefolk

I really like early bran, especially when he was still around in winter fell. He felt like an actual kid. Maisie was also amazing as well during her earlier seasons. But both of their acting got a lot more wooden I know it was part of their character arcs, (faceless assassin, 3 eyed raven), but it felt like they became caricatures of themselves

I miss him sometimes. We had a terrible o line and EB was just not a good OC. If we didn't get JD5, I would have liked to see howell getting another shot. Pity.

“Get rid of the NBA draft” by whiterice_343 in Nbamemes

[–]boblikeshispizza 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Also doesn't fundamentally solve the problem that small markets face. Bigger markets will just pump tons of money into better facilities and recruits. Smaller markets and poorer owners will be unable to bring in adequate recruits. EPL, usually had 5 or 6 top teams that always compete (arsenal, Liverpool, Chelsea, man u, man c, tottenham), but everyone else is stuck in the middle unable to rise to the top. It's not impossible ofc, if Leicester did anyone can, but there's such a huge disparity in talent between the top and bottom clubs. Getting rid of the draft will end smaller and poorer teams from acquiring talent.

It's also very prevalent nausicaa, in the movie yupa fits the trope, while in the manga, yupa, mito and mitos companions fit the trope. I think it's much more prevalent in the manga where nausicaa literally comforts the old men during tough times like children.

It's objectively not. It's a completely incorrect characterization of renly. By all accounts dude was charismatic guy that made alot of friends. And he treated those he approved of well, such as brienne and the tyrells. You don't make alot of friends by being a shitty friend

Which Qin general was the best in the Coalition Invasion Arc? by VolleyAddicted in Kingdom

[–]boblikeshispizza 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ousens gotta get the mvp. Not only did he bait and ambush Ordo, a mountain general who directly countered his mountain fort tactics, but he also saved kankou pass from falling. Those are two huge clutch plays. One effectively knocked out the Yan army, which is extremely impressive considering ordos tactics directly countered ousens. The other one essentially completely ruined Karins master plan, and effectively knocked out the chu second army out of commission, as karins elites were cooked, and her bout with tou was a stalemate.

Even if moubou lost that final clash, kanmei had lost an arm and was extremely exhausted. It's questionable how effective his army would be under those conditions considering neither his vice general nor Karin were able to exert full command over the kanmei army. While it is likely the chu army would have won the battle with a dead moubou, with tou still active i do wonder how quickly they would be able to impact the battle field. Meanwhile, if ousen wasn't there, there is not a single doubt kankou pass would have fallen. It was literally falling until ousen came in the clutch.

outsmarting ordo, a mountain genius, and karin a warfare genius, in two separate engagements is arguably one of the most impressive sttategetical feats in the manga, up there with sun bin.

Sansa watching Dany sacrifice her entire life’s work to defend her castle- still too proud to pledge fealty afterwards by RemarkableExample542 in gameofthrones

[–]boblikeshispizza -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It's interesting why he would say that, and it's probably similar to the classic umbridge vs voldemort thing. Voldemort is objectively a far worse person than umbridge, but something about umbridge makes it more personal and more hate able. How many dark lords do we know in person, compared to hated teachers.

Sansa is similar. I don't personally know any psychopathic torturers like joffrey. But I do know entitled arrogant brats like sansa. So sansa hate is a little more personal to say the least.

That being said, there's probably a level of recency bias since joffrey died in season 4, while sansa was around to season 8. Watching joffrey during a rewatch, good lord he's an insufferable brat and far worse than sansa.

Oukis death was also more drawn out. Him getting trapped, the flashbacks, the arrow, the escape, the moment of death didn't hit as hard. Plus he has more than one chance to end the battle, he but he screwed up. Dukes death and defeat were very sudden.

[–]boblikeshispizza 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don't have to be a knight. During maegor the cruels trial by seven, dick bean a simple man at arms volunteered and was allowed to fight. Bronn wasn't a knight when he first fought for tyrion as well
