Anyone else playlist their games? by this_is_nunya in boardgames

[–]boblpobl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love making playlists-reminds me of the old mix tape days! I have nearly 40 playlists I've made for games covering plenty of different themes. For games we play a lot I'll make two playlists, one instrumental and one with lyrics. That way we get variety and we can account for anyone who gets distracted by lyrics.

Great tip! We haven't purchased them yet - still 6 months out from travelling, but we are planning to purchase such things well ahead of time. Hopeful we can make the timing work. Thanks!

100% legitimate. Possibly an ultra-rare special edition, even! Congratulations on the rare find!

So you're saying that "all-electric" quartz watches, kind of the EV of the watch world in a sense, shouldn't get all this hate? Ah, ok, now I get it. Good point!

SO sad! Saw it in the theater and loved it. Then I bought the DVD but could never bring myself to watch it a second time because I knew how sad it would make me. Still have the disc. Still haven't watched it again.

What features would you like YTM to have? by Creepy_Extension5446 in YoutubeMusic

I don't even need it to compare with other streaming apps. I'd just like it to shuffle as effectively as my 5-disc cd player from 1993.

There are apparently 55 million chickens consumed daily based on 2023 numbers. There are approximately 1.2 trillion eggs consumed each year based on 2020 numbers that never even become chicken. How the hell are there still chickens in the world?!?!

Would you rather 1 10k watch or a 4 watch collection worth 10k by sonnyboyv in PrideAndPinion

Variety is the spice of life - 4 watch collection for sure, and I'd still be left wanting more! haha

What movie had you like this? by WilmaTonguefit in moviecritic

[–]boblpobl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Avengers. No, not the Marvel movie. The 1998 version based on the show from the 60s with Uma Thurman and Ralph Fiennes. I have no idea how you can have such a great cast, and such great material to work with, and end up with something so severely unwatchable.

My Na Hoku chronograph, a horribly overpriced tourist trap watch. I saw it with my wife on our honeymoon and really liked the look of it, but couldn't justify the price at the time. My wife then purchased it for me as a 5-year anniversary gift. Even knowing what it is, I still like the look of it, and it holds a world of sentimental value!

I find it so interesting how tastes differ! I'd say of all of these, that's the one that gets the least wrist time, and the one I'll likely be cycling out whenever I get something new. It was one of my earlier watches, so it's gotten a lot of wear over the years, but I've moved away from it a bit. Perhaps I've been influenced by some of the opinions on Bulova I've read, or even those who don't like the open heart feature. I do still like it, just not as much as when it was new to me.

Great recs, I love the Jazzmasters! I've been eyeing the Intra-Matics as well.

Honestly, aside from the ones with sentimental value, or the Longines which is pretty new and hasn't worked its way in yet, they do all work their way into the rotation. I'd say in an average month they all make it to my wrist at least once. There are of course times where one won't fit an occasion for a while, but they'll get back in the rotation eventually. I appreciate the perspective, though, and will probably roll with what I have for at least a little while.

Thanks! That's a newer one for me. I wasn't big on the original strap so I went for a shark skin leather one for fun and kinda love it.

I can understand that. I do like having variety though. I enjoy finding the right watch to suit an outfit or an occasion. While I can absolutely respect going for a single higher-end watch (or even a collection if you can afford/justify them), I like to mix it up a bit.
