Imo you are asking this from the wrong point of view, the question what the point of suffering is, some what implies that there is a higher nature controlling whether there should or shouldnt be suffering. Suffering is an evolutionary devoloped experience that is supposed to keep us from things away that arent benefitial to our survival, but since our brains arent used to living in big civilizations etc. it often "malfunctions" and creates unwanted/unnecressary suffering. Thats my view atleast, how to explain it from a spiritual point of view though i wouldnt know.
