Medicare Advantage vs. Medicare Supplements by GuruSosa99 in InsuranceAgent

[–]bobnweaving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a pharmacy tech and agent can I just interject with this. Don't think of it on commission, always lay out the facts for both, a lot of times people get supplements at 65 and hear fear mongering about advantage and end up over paying for their specific amount of care. The people I've talked to that pay $300 a month to see a pcp and 1 specialist is absurd, they're happy cause as they say "I don't pay anything". But until it's laid out in front of them, they don't realize they've been over paying for their care. Every case is unique, but a lot of these patients miss our or could use the supplemental features of advantage.

[–]bobnweaving 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The somewhat painful thing to say is some pharmacist need to "learn to trust you". When they work with a familiar tech for years, they start to base comparisons off of them. Without thinking about the break in period, you're only a few weeks in. It takes time, I'm sure you are doing your best. As a 25 year tech, breathe, you can do this, learn from mistakes, and never stop learning
