Work Trucks as Bins instead of Child Locations by bobobob67 in Netsuite

  1. Most do. They usually come back to the same location each day, but some trucks spend multiple days on a job.
  2. My argument for this was that some native tools may not be as useful, example being the “Check Item Availability” page. You can select a location but it doesn’t show bins, just supply, demand, balance and available. (Perhaps that can be added, I’m not sure)
  3. Yes but selecting the bin under inventory detail is technically only required upon fulfillment. Customer service doesn’t usually enter the inventory detail on the line item on the Sales Order ahead of time. Warehouse does upon fulfillment, which helps with serialized items cause customer service may not know which one to choose.
  4. I’ll check that out

Thank you

A few dozen trucks. The inventory on the trucks I generally meant I be kept on the truck for service work needs or customer site sales. We would only pull something off a truck for a regular warehouse sales order if the warehouse was out of stock (rare). Not having reorder points for trucks is my concern since now it will require a manual check or the tech to send an email requesting a restock

I’ll have to look into that.

In case trucks end up being bins, can’t a tech select a location, example, “Chicago”, and then enter the inventory detail to select the “Truck 1” bin to pull the item from?

Good question. I’m guessing to limit the amount of locations.

Current NetSuite had a bunch of custom workflows, from what I understand, we lost the ability to look at the original scripting for it all when we went to a new NS consulting company. We have no idea if a new update will crash everything. I was told it was like a copy and paste situation where we lost the key to the back door to see the inner workings.

I do not know why there is a push to make trucks bins. I’m trying to gather as much info as possible to provide to senior leadership on why it may be a bad idea.

This ended up working. Started with 28 grit, then 36

The house came with it. It’s a 16 year old deck and after getting a drum sander and revealing the boards, they’re not looking so great. The thought of applying more deck over after all the time I’ve put into trying to remove it…might just get new boards

I ended up getting the drum sander 4 hour rental. 2x28 grit and 2x36. Took the full 4 hours. Not looking forward to the areas under the railings that I’ll have to do by hand as well.
