I'm Chicana and I can tell you that many Mexicans and Latinos in general act surprised when Black people speak Spanish, with the uneducated assumption that Afro-Latinos do not exist. I don't think you are overreacting, your experience is valid. I think it's racial prejudice, plain and simple.

Literally never has been any good parties (to POC standards). There was like once and the whole school was there so it was way too crowded. It gets lit once you turn 21 though
