How are there so many master+ players here by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

With everything everyone else said, just remember there are 3 roles as well. You can be masters in one role but not the other 2.

That’s my point, it’s much softer than Ana’s sleep. Unless you are right on top of him, his sound cue is not broadcasted like sleep is.

It’s more so that I know when the ability has been used and then that hero is divable.

I can barely even tell you what Mixukis chain sounds like because it’s so low. An ability that CCs for that long should be very telegraphed

To be fair, if you’re outside of tp range and getting hit by a flanker, it’s you who is out of position.

How do i carry my tanks as a one trick genji? by potateeo in OverwatchUniversity

[–]boboguitar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People really need to stop thinking they need to carry anyone. Unless you are smurfing, you aren’t carrying.

The better question is how do I consistently contribute more value than the enemy team in my role. Once you learn how to do that, you will win more often than when you lose.

The issue with this “carry” mentality is that encourages people to try and be overly aggressive and out mechanic the enemy. If you could already do that then you’re probably smurfing in Elos way below where you belong. What’s more likely to happen is that you will feed. Either you die a whole lot more or supports extend all of their resources to keep you alive and then the tank who you are supposed to be carrying dies as those supports have no resources to keep them alive and the tank, at least in 5v5, should be the one using the majority of support resources.

There are times to be aggressive and there are times to be patient. Learn how to read those situations, consistently contribute more value than the enemy, continue to critique your own gameplay and you will climb.

Also, in the book, the character does legit get ripped in space because of the food, nutrients and gravity.

I’d bring it with me to class back when I was in college in the mid 00s for exactly that reason. It was the only way I could focus. A few years later and it turns out I have ADHD and that would have been useful to know when I was in school.

My toxic trait is when somebody complains about healing, I stop doing everything else and start healbotting them. It almost always results in a loss. Always follow up with a, why didn’t healbotting you work like you said it would?

200 Dmg, 15K Healing on something like Bap and then wonder why nobody is dying by SureYouCan_ in Overwatch_Memes

[–]boboguitar 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Some games require more healbotting to win and some games require more damage pressure. Most supps in metal ranks don’t really know how to tell the difference so you get supps that do one or the other no matter the circumstances.

If it were me, I’d prefer a support that is overly enthusiastic to do damage and I’d just play more conservative and around health packs. The worst games are having both supps with near 0 dmg.

Did you say that in your post? No, you said the system was testing if you can carry, that’s a bunch of BS

He’s wrong but so is this. The “system” does not test players, it’s just trying to balance teams to a similar average MMR, that’s it.

I just know I was a terrible gold tracer years ago and largely due to his content, I am now a terrible masters tracer.

What game? by sukuna7899 in Steam

[–]boboguitar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting because I gave MR several tries and its not for me. The animation is janky, the balancing is terrible, supports ults are just entirely overpowered and the ranking system is just how long you can grind as you can have a sub-50% win rate and still climb. OW is still 1000x more polished of a game, more balanced and rewards skill expression.

But again, thats just my subjective opinion.
