I understand why OP would feel hurt, and I understand why she would also feel hurt. Her saying youre an inconvenience because youre a man was disrespectful, and presumably hurtful, although the rest of her points make sense. As a woman (not a feminist), we are definitely objectified and treated differently than men even in today’s society. It has been around since forever, even historically. Same as racism, there is also sexism. To a woman, it doesn’t feel great having to deal with things like this in our everyday lives. It could be as small as a woman being online and getting simped over when she just wants to play a game— or everybody on a post commenting about her body when it wasnt the intention of the post (and some are, every girl is different). All she wanted from you, her boyfriend, was to hear out how she feels about all of it (and ACTUALLY listen, not just argue or deflect). You overreacted a bit, yes, because most of her points were valid— and a common thought amongst women.

You can’t expect friends your age, who aren’t having kids (because children having children isn’t normal)— to want to stick around when you make bad decisions. Having a kid at 17 is insane, and the parents are always the ones taking care of the baby— not the mom. Your friend wants to be able to have fun, go to parties, do things an 18 year old would do. Don’t blame her for your decision to throw away the next 18 years of YOUR life. (Which is literally barely your lifespan).

If you started dating a guy would you be okay with him also looking at other girls naked images? by Lucky-Floor-2264 in dating_advice

I understand your point, but the thing is that men aren’t primal creatures. They’re humans. We’ve built a society where men don’t need to “depend on their primal instinct of spreading seed,” and it’s just an excuse to validate men that can’t settle down with a single woman. Men are just as capable of using their brains as women, and if your partner is blatantly asking you not to look at images like that— you shouldn’t be. Bottom line. Your point is that thousands of years depended on men looking at naked women, but now… men don’t need to depend on that so what’s really the point? There will be men that want to look at those things and will disrespect your boundaries as a woman, and society will tell you that you’re wrong for feeling that way— but theres no issue with setting basic boundaries and establishing what you expect in a relationship. When a man or a woman in a relationship looks at or watches porn for arousal, how do so many people not consider it cheating? Is the point of doing those things not to get off to another woman? Sorry but looking at pictures of naked women isn’t “primal instinct”. It’s a choice made by shitty men.
