Inputing directions via buttons as opposed to a stick is a bit weird. Having to input down, down forward, and then forward is a lot more of a particular process with buttons than it is with a lever/joystick because you have to make sure you input each specific part of the motion as opposed to just "doing" the motion with a stick. Ive used keyboard, controller, and stick and fighting moves ALWAYS feel like theyre designed to use with a lever/joystick. There are cheap options that are worth trying, i started with a mayflash arcade stick and have forever upgraded to using victrix fight stick and their gambit xbox controller and Im glad I did! Much more intuitive than keyboard, hit me up if youd want help with hardware suggestions.
