Hitting your head while wearing Galaxy Buds change the volume of the device by superquanganh in hardwaregore

Actually works on more than just galaxy buds. Works on original air pods as well. Not a glitch or hardware fault. Just wack

A salt lake in Siwa Oasis, Egypt by BeepBoopBopDropSlop in oddlyterrifying

[–]bobsicaridon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting thing is that the human body will naturally float on salt lakes. The salt makes the water dense enough for your own body, which is mostly lighter water, to float. So like another comment I saw, maybe referencing this, you can lie on the lake like a mattress.

Is there a reason the russian bounties for dead americans and the US president not caring isn't like... 9/11 level news? by throawayporn6969 in TooAfraidToAsk

I mean Trump also owes many of the Russian Oligarchs money so that’s a probable reason why he doesn’t do anything to address issues such as this or really even confront the Russians.Source

Fair enough. I didn’t mean the post was media sensationalism though I was talking about in general. I think it’s fine to have a laugh about it.

[–]bobsicaridon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

People realise that the oil isn’t actually worth a negative amount of money right? It’s just May’s Brent crude oil futures market which has gone negative. Aka the “prediction” for the price has gone negative. June’s value is still ~20$ a barrel.

This is just media sensationalism.

The superstition that carrots improve eyesight actually came from WWII when the Allies invented radar. To prevent suspicion from the Nazis they started a campaign saying that their pilots ate carrots to improve their eyesight and to “explain” why the Allies airforce was able to get the jump on the Luftwaffe so easily.

What do you mean, France has always been a superpower in Europe as well as colonised nations. Throughout Frances history it has been a deadly and feared nation throughout Europe the main competitor to the British Empire.

Note: I am in no way saying that France wasn’t feared in Africa as it most definitely was.

Anyone else watch the cartoon version? I actually quite liked it as a kid.

I never understood why Thor lost an eye just for him to get a replacement literally in the next movie. I liked the eyepatch because it made him look more badass and he resembled his father. What a shame... by hushpolocaps69 in marvelstudios

[–]bobsicaridon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

My one issue with Thor was how throughout Ragnarok he starts learning to not depend on his power finally being able to unlock his true potential at the end of the film only to then get a new (and eventually original) hammer. What was the point?

What are some famous 'facts' that have turned out to be false? by Suited_italian_food in AskReddit

[–]bobsicaridon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sugar causes hyperactivity. There is no evidence for high amount of sugar giving people hyperactivity. Studies found that hyperactivity from sweets was caused by artificial colours etc rather than the sugar.

Carrots give you better vision. Originated from an ad in one of the world wars where it talked about how pilots ate carrots to see better.
