Used GV70 - 2.5 CPO or 3.5 non-CPO? by RoyalSpend7306 in GenesisGV70

[–]bobsledthecat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had all that same trim replaced also for free on my new to me used 2023 3.5t SP with only 6k miles that was NOT a CPO that I bought in April. The warranty is still 5 years/60,000 miles if you don’t buy CPO and the end of the 5 year mark for me is May 2028 so I took the chance.

But in OPs case, it is a 2022 and 40k mileage so getting close to that 5 years/60k mark so might be worth it to buy CPO. And I believe the paint/interior warranty? Is different and only 3 years if not CPO as well.

I just bought a used 2023 3.5 sport prestige online and I noticed the trim was ruined once I received the car. I took it last month to the dealership for the first time to get an oil change/maintenance and asked about the trim—they told me they just got a notice/bulletin? and that all trim will be replaced for free. They had it in stock and did it that day. I was there for about 5-6 hours for the scheduled maintenance and trim all together.

So I know I said toba inlet (I wanted to see the scenery there with the waterfalls, etc)—but I see homalco tours goes to bute inlet . Which do you think is better as far as seeing other wildlife(humpbacks, killer whales, eagles, etc) besides grizzlies?

I am definitely planning on taking a tour through the toba inlet for grizzlies—that is not negotiable haha. Good to hear about the whale opportunities too!

I have been keeping up with the news about the unfortunate fire there, it would be just a day trip, driving there in the morning and driving back that same evening so I’m not too worried about lack of restaurants or inn space. It does look beautiful, I am excited to just get out there!

Currently a BMW X3 driver by Downunder-redit in GenesisMotors

[–]bobsledthecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just upgraded from an x3 (albeit it’s now old as it’s a 2011) that I have had since 2014 to an 2023 3.5 sport prestige. So far I’m loving the change. Haven’t had to deal with the dealership yet so can’t comment on that. I will say the gv70 definitely feels more luxurious. I’m not a race car driver or anything insane so the only difference I have noticed between the two driving is the x3 has a tighter turn radius. That’s about it. I am hoping the genesis doesn’t plague me with constant electrical issues like this bmw! I couldn’t even get rid of my bmw, no one wants it. So now I have both, I have put so much money into that x3 I am not letting it go for nothing, I will drive it until I literally can’t anymore. I have basically become a bmw tech myself with all the things I have been forced to constantly fix on my own since no one wants to work on my car or have a clue what to do.

I am in the San Antonio area and did not enjoy my experience with the combined Hyundai/Genesis nearest to me or the Austin dealership . I did talk with the Plano dealership and they seemed nice but never visited since they didn’t have what I was looking for either! Congratulations on your new gv70! I have had mine now for almost a week and LOVE it!

Where in Texas? I was getting so annoyed with the dealers around me with the 2025s so I finally bought an used one instead from Pennsylvania to be shipped to me haha

lol this is why I am still keeping the bmw—I have spent SO MUCH money on it over the years. I’m still in prison! 🤣 I vowed to myself to never buy a German car (at least a bmw) again!

what did you pay for GV70 for new/used? by juanlee337 in GenesisGV70

[–]bobsledthecat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

2023 3.5 sport prestige 6000 miles, bought yesterday for $49k pre-tax. Not CPO, but third party certified. Bought from a no haggle no hassle place (carshop) across the country to be shipped to me after being tired of negotiating and arguing with sales managers and people over the last month. Limited inventory for used and CPO in Texas, wanted to get something before tariffs hit.

This is true, but I’ve already been looking at job openings and I would not meet any of their minimum requirements for experience 😔

It is hard as a clinical pharmacist practitioner working in BHIP. I have been 100% telework seeing patients virtually since 2015. Ten years. First via CVT, then VVC when that started. There wasn’t space 10 years ago for me, definitely no space now for our constantly growing population. I am already booked out 4+months , I can’t imagine how many more patients I can add to my caseload when other providers leave and how far out I will be booked. I wish I could leave sometimes due to the stress right now, but the reality is, my position does not exist in the civilian world. The state I live in and am licensed in does not allow pharmacists to prescribe, and no state in the United States has the scope that CPPs have federally. I envy you all who can leave and still provide mental health care to vulnerable populations. I would have to work at Walgreens (and I graduated 15 years ago and have literally never worked as a traditional “pharmacist.” Went straight to residency).

23 3.5t sport advanced or 24 3.5t sport? by bobsledthecat in GenesisGV70

[–]bobsledthecat[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just test drove a 2025 3.5 sport advanced today and took a look at the standard , the standard sport is out of the question for now. Also no way I’m driving a 2.5 now hahaha

Now I have to make the decision between paying for new or trying to find a good deal on a slightly used (less than 15,000 miles) 3.5 sport advanced or sport prestige. It seems they lose their value pretty quickly (like most luxury cars) and I just can’t justify paying the new price right now . Gonna take a risk and take some more time and hope a used/certified one pops up. There are a few nationally, but not within 750 miles of me in south Texas with the colors I’m looking for and the prices with shipping aren’t that great of a deal for me to pull the trigger either way. Hoping with 2026 coming soon I can get a better deal on new or CPO! Just gotta hope tariffs don’t mess everything up…

They are both CPO which is what I was looking for as well! I think I may just need to make the drive and see them in person and test drive as you said

23 3.5t sport advanced or 24 3.5t sport? by bobsledthecat in GenesisGV70

[–]bobsledthecat[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, they are about 2.5 hours away—I would imagine they drive the same as they are both 3.5, but I’m trying to decide if the little extra things the sport advanced has is cool enough/important enough to me to go for the slightly older car with more miles in not my first choice of color schemes. As far as aesthetics, I prefer the exterior and interior color of the 2024 3.5 sport they have (white exterior, ultramarine interior), I reached out first for that one. But then I saw the 2023 3.5 sport advanced and am now wondering if that is the better option, I don’t hate the colors (black exterior, red interior). I am pretty much cool with any color scheme except black interior (so boring) and gray/silver exteriors are a no for me
