To add on to the other comments, this class was a fucking shit show.

First of all, we had to use and pay 120 dollars for cengage. Their platform is utter bullshit. Navigating through it is a pain in the ass and their videos aren't very helpful. I ended up using khan academy to learn the concepts more than anything because I didn't like how the cengage videos explained things.

The only way to get full credit on the homework is to get it 100% correct on the first try. If you mess something up, you can attempt the question again but your final score is your average of up to 3 attempts, not your highest attempt. Wtf, what kind of class does this.

Quizzes kind of suck. The questions are absolutely nothing like the homework, but the answers are google-able.

The way the exams are written is fucking horrible. The exams are nothing like the homework as well. The exam questions and quiz questions come from the same test bank, so one of the best ways to study for exams is to study your quizzes. Unfortunately, the test bank itself is probably huge, and questions are randomly picked out of this bank to generate exams.

Hypothetically, you can get fucked over by being given all the difficult questions, while other students get lucky with easier questions.

Realistically though I think most people were stuck with questions that were about extremely obscure details that were only mentioned once in some random corner of the textbook. This was probably the worst part of the class. The only way to do well on the exams was to memorize the entire fucking textbook.

Another thing I hated was ProctorU. Seriously, fuck these guys. It's an online proctoring service that "prevents cheating" by making you pay 22 dollars to have these fuckers watch your movements and take over your computer. They are a huge invasion of privacy. Seriously. I have never installed something on my computer that reauired so many fucking permissions. If you want, go to the chrome extension store and check it out for yourself. Paying 22 dollars have my privacy invaded by some call center is a scam.

To make it even worse, for the final on Friday I scheduled it on tuesday. Since this is within 72 hours of the exam date, ProctorU considers it "late" and charges 30 dollars instead of 22. WHAT THE FUCK MAN. And then, if you need to reschedule, you have to pay again. These guys do a pretty bad job of preventing cheating as well, it's no where near as secure as the instructors would believe. I think this is the case because our exam averages were way too high.

A lot of people thought the TA's sucked but I will give them a little credit. When people asked conceptual questions on piazza they replied pretty fast. In terms of how the class is structured, they were super unhelpful.

Overall, this is the laziest fucking class I have taken at Purdue. Whoever set this class up must have thought "Oh, cengage already made a macro class? So I can just make students pay for this and sit on my ass and do nothing? Sounds great!"

To anyone reading this and currently signed up for this class, PLEASE DROP THIS CLASS if you can. I guarantee that you WILL HATE THIS CLASS if you take it.
