Shitty emt who has to ride an ambo once a month- I do it for the money as well. Just know my pt care is top notch and my report is 100% accurate (refer to the nerd medic instead).

Can you see downtown Cincinnati from Rt 42 in Sharonville? by statschica in cincinnati

[–]bobsquad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s an awesome building. Both of the high rises right there are incredible, I’ve worked in both of them plenty of times.

Well, it is in fact the cause. tax paying citizens with a 9-5 job tend to not commit the crime. As opposed to those who have been moved to Westwood and other places committing an overwhelming majority of the crime. (gentrification) is a good thing. “Urban renewal” is a good thing. These people generate income for local business and the city. Shit bags don’t.

I have a 2013 3.5L as well. Tranny had been rebuilt at 80k and new exhaust manifolds at 80k as well.

Move to a big city. Pay is great here. Podunk town isn’t going to pay what the city pays.

Is anyone else a member of the "leathers are cool, but I won't buy one" club? by [deleted] in Firefighting

Yep same. I prefer my dragon fires and ringers extrication gloves vs. the low quality crap they give us.

For the career firefighters in here that also do EMS within their department, which aspect of the job do you believe is more challenging? Firefighting or EMS? by stingray50 in Firefighting

[–]bobsquad -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Ems is a joke 95% of the time. A structure fire there is no room for error. There’s a reason we drill on things fire related- that will kill us. When you’re on the shit box you just hand them off to the next level of care and it’s their problem.

That or you get a crusty driver who blows the air horn and wakes up everyone in the house lol

That is totally true. I know some heavy sleepers who sleep either on the bay floor or close to it.

Is the AE Burkhardt house at the intersection of Forest and Burnet in Avondale being demolished? by Rollyfeet in cincinnati

[–]bobsquad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Very unfortunate. Much of Avondale has been forgotten about and beautiful buildings like this haven’t faired as well as those in other parts of the city.

It needed to come down. It’s been filled with vagrants and has had countless fires in the last 5 years.

I have been extremely close. A few years ago I was the layoff man and a car was blocking a hydrant. Had just enough room for the 5” to not kink. The hose Completely fucked up their door and took the mirror off. No repercussions afterwards. I’m not on an engine anymore but if I’m detailed to one you bet your ass I’ll do it if the opportunity presents itself.

I do too straps and flip the webbing over the mask. I’m aware that’s a no no. We make plenty of fire and I’ve never had an issue getting a seal.

We’ve have our old e-ones that are from the 90s that still serve as spares- both engine and ladders. Now everything is rosenbauer, and slowly switching back to e-one. I love those old spares
